Established in 1995, DAA is committed to developing the wonderful art of Aikido in Ireland. We also have affiliated clubs in Galway and Belfast.
Dublin Aikido practices Aikikai, which is the organisation originated by the founder of Aikido (O-Sensei) and is currently headed by O-Sensei's grandson in Tokyo. Through our practice we try to remain faithful to the roots of Aikido. We regularly invite high ranking French instructors to teach seminars here in Dublin, in particular Philippe Gouttard (6th Dan), who is our Technical Director. Our se

We had a great "hatsugeiko" or "first practise of the year" on Monday!
Kiko was sporting his brand new hakama! π₯³
Looking forward to many more over the year ahead.π₯π
Doors are always open to new members!
As we close the chapter on 2025, itβs hard not to feel proud.
It was a year that asked a lot from us β and gave even more back.
A week-long seminar in Mèze that pushed us well beyond our comfort zones, tested our focus and stamina, and reminded us why we train. Tough days, tired bodies⦠and absolutely worth every moment.
And then there was the highlight of the year β 30 years of Dublin Aikikai Aikido. A milestone that turned into a true celebration of community, commitment, and shared practice. The energy, the people, the atmosphere β a huge success made possible by everyone involved.
Thank you to all our members, instructors, visitors, and friends for the dedication, the effort on the mat, and the support off it.
We finish the year stronger, more connected, and already looking forward to what comes next.
Enjoy the break β and see you on the mat in the New Year. π₯β¨
