HOLE IN 1

Not only did Jackie Kilroy win the McKeever Trophy, she also had a hole in 1 on the 2nd hole and won closest to the pin 👏👏

We had a wonderful day, sun was shining, course was in fantastic condition, we even had a few furry spectators and we had 42 on the time sheet.
Great to see everyone again and a few new faces too.

I hope everyone is keeping well and glad to be back to golf, at last!
Its been a very strange year but looks like things are finally turning.
I am delighted to announce Gillian (Dilly) Coe (Ms Coe to many of us) as next years Lady Captain of the Old Alex Golf Society (OAGS)

I am really delighted Dilly accepted, last year we welcomed 9 new (younger) members, I think Dilly is the perfect person to bring in new members and we’d love to see some of the school girls playing in the OAGS.

We are working on dates for our OAGS Lady Captains Prize and Dilly will be in touch soon.

Old Alex Golf Society - OAGS This is the page for the Old Alex Golf Society - for past pupils and teachers. Founded in 1963.

This day 138 years ago - 22 October 1882 - nine women were awarded degrees from the Royal University of Ireland.

They were the first women in either Ireland or Great Britain to receive degrees.

They became known as the Nine Graces.

Six had studied at Alexandra College, Dublin.

The nine were Isabella Mulvany, Alice Oldham, Jessie Twemlow (later Meredith), Marion Kelly, Annie Mary Sands, Eliza Wilkins, Charlotte M. Taylor, Louisa M. McIntosh, Emily E. Eberle.

Our Lady Captains Prize and Annual Outing 2020

OAGS LC Prize and Annual Competition.

The Sun shone, course was playing perfectly and some great scores. We had 26 competitors in total and 10 new players.

Well done to Kate Whelan (20) who won the LC Prize and McKeever Trophy with 35 points.
Kate beat Deirdre Powell (8) on the back 9, but Deirdre won the Whiteside Cup, Past Lady Captains.
Ann-Marie Powell (6) won the Gross on the day and Nicola Keogh (28) who won the 9 hole competition with 17.
