Spring Blade is over and done with and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who participated in the event!

Final date for entry is Thursday 10th April 2025, any entry after that date will be at the organisers discretion. Until the entry fee is received all entries are considered preliminary.

ALL ENTRANTS MUST HAVE A 2024/2025 SEASON FENCING LICENCE (Note by agreement between Fencing Ireland and Pentathlon Ireland all active paid members of Pentathlon Ireland have fencing licences). Anyone without a licence for the current season will not be permitted to fence. Licences can be renewed on the Fencing Ireland web site:

END OF SEASON CELEBRATION:
Everyone is invited to Brian Boru Fencing Club’s pre ‘end’ of season party. There will be food and drink provided. Once we reach the quarter finals the food (sandwiches, cakes etc) will be brought out for people to enjoy while watching the final eight fencers battle it out for the medals.

Awards:
There will be trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for the overall Tournament (men and women competing together) and 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for women with separate medals for the highest placed male and female Junior fencers (i.e. under 20 on 1st January 2025) and highest placed male and female Veteran (i.e. 40 or over by 31st December 2025).

Now onto National club Championships 🏆

Day 1, Our mens teams (1 & 2) battled throughout the day and we had some great results. Unfortunately both our teams met each other in the table of 8 but team 1 went onto the Semi Finals against Trinity 2 and won a great battle 45-42 and commenced to the finals where they unfortunately lost against Ambush Fencing Club but put up a great fight 💪

The women’s teams battled throughout the second day with consistency and great energy. Having a great poule and continuing on with an automatic bye to the semi finals where they won against Rebel Fencing Club 45-24 which they faced Ambush Fencing Club in the finals.
After an intense finals where it went to 1 minute priority, unfortunately the women lost after an intense battle.

Amazing performance over the weekend by our fencers who travelled all the way to Derry to compete in the Northen Ireland Open!

Considering the red warning warnings on the Friday our fencers travelled up both on Friday night and Saturday morning and came out with amazing results.
Well done and congrats to all 💪
