It’s with a grateful yet heavy heart : It’s time to say goodbye. ❤️

From 1978-2024, Myself and my wife Laura, have been the incredibly proud owners of Skate city. From the Hill Street days to Templebar; I have a tidal wave of memories, far too many to even note. It started with a passion at a young age to a job I’ve cherished every single moment of. Without the support of my wife Laura and 3 kids Kerri, Nathan and Eva, who always helped out, I couldn’t have done this. This was our life and their life too.
As we roll down the ramps of time, it’s time to bid adieu to the place that has been more than just a shop – it’s been a home, a refuge, and a heartbeat for skateboard enthusiasts across generations. this space has witnessed the growth of a vibrant skate culture in Ireland that became a part of our very identity.

It’s difficult to express the depth of gratitude we feel for every skater who has graced our doors, every parent who supported their child’s love for the sport, and every friend who dropped in for a chat and a catch-up, You’ve made this journey unforgettable, and the camaraderie forged here will forever be etched in our hearts. As we pack away the memories and turn the key one last time, we carry with us the echoes of laughter, the unforgettable stories and memories that passed through these shop walls. We may be closing but the legacy lives on in each skater who called this place home.

Thank you, Ireland, for 45 incredible years.
We plan to close on January 14th so don’t forget there is still time to support your local skate shop. Keep on rolling, Clive ❤️
