More Takagi Yoshin Ryu tonight . We are spending a lot of time around the kuzushi and kurai of the various sutemi and nage waza found in Takagi Yoshin Ryu .
Tonight we looked at kuruma nage against a resisting uke - hips heavy and to the rear . Ideally you should be able to do these techniques softly - if you can do it softly with good technique against a resisting partner , adding momentum is easy !

Some clips from a shodan test this morning , the test included randori rounds followed by teaching and demonstration of techniques and kata from the Nami Kai () syllabus.

Another really fun session. We spent sometime on uchi mata and hane goshi and finished the class out with some dynamic mitt work, using atemi waza found in Koto Ryu.

We had some of that extra special “once In a while” budo energy in the dojo this morning. An hour of randori rounds, an hour of kihon gata and an hour of kenjutsu/batto based of movement found in Gyokko Ryu. We also had several promotions after an excellent demonstration of the koshi kihon sanpo! An amazing day .
