Keeping up with the modern Jiu-Jitsu game.

Last month both RGA head coaches travelled to Belgium to attend a camp with Jason Rau and Eoghan O Flanagan.

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks…..only if they don’t want to learn.

consistently bring in high level coaches. Our coaches have been for 3 years in a row with small improvements each year from the organisers.

Shout out to who competed at ADCC trials a couple of weeks ago, winning his first match by submission against a high level black-belt.

Artyom has been consistently improving due to his approach to training. Always looking to improve certain positions, coming to training with a focus and willing to lose at training in order to gain new skills.

Being a self guided learner, in combination with what we cover in class is the best way to improve as a grappler.

Be like Artyom, be willing to fail more in training so you can get better in competition.

2024 ADCC European trials medallist.

Amazing result from Jean in his debut competing as a Black-Belt. 5 matches, winning 2 by submission and losing out to the eventual winner by refs decision in the semi-finals.

Jean Maltese, Royal Grappling Academy Black-Belt Feb 2024.

Jean started out as a fresh white-belt in one of our beginners courses in 2017. From the start he had potential but what made him as good as he has become is his hard work on and off the mats. Since white-belt he was looking for the hardest rounds on the mats and now he is the hardest round on the mat. Someone for our younger guys to look up to and our older guys to avoid 👨🏻‍🦳 Our first Black-Belt under 30!

Jean has been our most successful competitor (so far), winning lots and medalling at the majors at brown belt.

He’s only getting started though, big things will happen for him at Black-Belt.

2 NEW BLACKBELTS!!!
⬛️⬛️⬛️🟥🟥⬛️

Huge achievement from James O Rourke and Sean Mooney.

James is the first Royal Grappling Academy white to black belt, starting with us as a brand new beginner. One of the most consistent men on the mats, he has been the unofficial club captain for a long time. Always available to help out when needed and has no problem putting manners on members and coaches alike.

Sean came to us a high level purple belt many years ago having gained a great level from his previous club. One of the most humble, hard workers in the club and guaranteed to give you the hardest round of the night no matter how big you are.

An absolute pleasure to promote these men.

Photos from Royal Grappling Academy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Dublin's post 02/10/2023

Best of luck to this young man on his travels. He will be missed as a training partner and a big loss to our competition team.

It’s been an absolute pleasure having him on the mats with us.
