So after the group stages in the ultimate pool diversity challenge. The Ireland Learning Disabilities Pool Team have 3 players Liam Daly Georgie Lynam Jnr Joseph Monahan all Qualified for the last 16 stage. Then we have another 5 players that have Qualified for the plate stages with Aaron Hennessy AidanNiall Pollitt Shane Mc Kevitt Andy Lowbridge. Some great pool being played by everyone.

The Ireland Learning Disabilities Pool Team brought 9 players over to Leicester England for a Blackball pool competition ran by Ultimate Pool. For their 1st diversity disability pool competition. Their is 32 players with all kinds of disabilities entered into this competition. It's held in Club 147 . Organised by Gary Rambo The competition format is 8 groups of 4. Playing on 16 supreme heinsworth cloth tables. Group matches are race to 4 with a 45 minute match clock. If its a draw at the end of the clock the match will be decided on a black ball shoot out. With the top 2 of the group qualifying for the main competition and the bottom 2 will enter the plate competition. Their is £1000 prize money up for grabs. What else would you want to do on a Saturday afternoon/evening but go and watch these bunch of great lads do something that they absolutely enjoy and give everything to. They live for the game of pool. The road to the Nations Cup in Bridlington in April is well and truly underway with this lot.
With the final of ranking 1 between Liam Daly & Aidan Pollitt being postponed because some selfish player decided to go on a cruise Liam Daly 🤣🤣🤣. It was onto ranking 2.
And it was a battle between Dublin & Offaly in the final.
Both these players came 2nd in the groups. But both of these players beat the winners of the groups in the semi finals. Georgie Lynam who was playing brilliant all day long produced an amazing 4 - 0 win over Aidan Pollittt.
The 2nd semi final so group winner Joseph Monahan play Niall AidanNiall Pollitt. Joe raced into a comfortable 3 - 0 lead but I think he got to comfortable. But what an unbelievable comeback from niall as he stood and fought for a great win as he won 4 - 3.
Now the final between Dublin & Offaly. We all know Dublin will always beat Offaly in most things but things our starting to change in the Green, white & orange County. Alot of great pool being played out of the cue academy ( Great work by the committee) And it proved it today while on fire Georgie lynam raced into a comfortable 3 - 1 lead. The comeback king Niall Pollitt pulled it back to 3 - 3 and was on fire and looked like the Dub was going to win it only for a bit of hesitation from Niall thinking he was going to snooker himself on the last yellow and left it short in the pocket. Which left the man from the faithful County an easy black into the middle to win 4 - 3 and put offaly back on the map of pool. 🤣🤣🤣. Ireland Learning Disabilities Pool Team would like to say a huge thank you & congratulations to Northern Ireland Special Pool Association for travelling down to Dublin yesterday to play in our annual friendly match.
It's a friendly match on paper but when it comes to these lads playing pool the friendly goes out the window and the lads from NI certainly proved that with a scoreline of 25 - 11 to the visitors. Congratulations to Philip Havern on being player of the match with winning 6 frames out of 6. We are looking forward to returning to the North and hopefully bringing back the cup back down the road with us in early 2025.

And that's a wrap for the 1st Blackball Federation of Ireland ranking for the Ireland Learning Disabilities Pool Team what a great day the lads had in J-Mac's Pool Club. Semi final final results so AidanNiall Pollitt who was on fine form today winning all his group stage games beat Joseph Monahan 4 - 1. Captain of the team Liam Daly took on the inform Jude Roche in the 2nd semi final. And it was Liam that came out the Victor with a smashing 4 - 1 over Jude. The final between Liam v Aidan will be at the next ranking in September. We'll done to all that played today. Want to thank the BFI & J-macs for supporting the lads & a great pool venue.
