It has been an amazing year and a half since Medieval Armoured Combat - Dublin started in earnest. All three trainers in Dublin (Kyle, Sean and David) now have IMCF World Championship experience.

To our Captain Brendan Halpin and to Brendan Griffin thank you for making the effort in the early months to travel to and from Dublin and for believing in what Medieval Armoured Combat - Dublin could be.

For those regulars at Dublin training who didn't make the trip to the IMCF World Championships this year we will be looking to you to armour up over the next few months as Medieval Armoured Combat - Dublin prepares for a busy summer of fighting leading up to the Claregalway Castle Shield in September!

See you Sunday!

Last weekend saw Kyle and David from Medieval Armoured Combat – Dublin fighting in the IMCF 2019 World Championships with Team Ireland and our MACI Family in Kyivan Rus Park in Ukraine.

Kyle put in an outstanding performance during his first time in the Pole Arm Individual competition, making a huge impression on IMCF 2019 by coming in 4th place and facing some tough opponents along the way. We are very proud of Kyle's achievement and can’t wait to see what next year and the IMCF World Championships 2020 will bring.

Team Ireland had other spectacular performances with Anthony making it out of his group in the Individual Sword and Shield competition, Lorraine having two great wins in her Sword and Shield group and Piotr narrowly missing out and coming 4th in the Individual Male Long Sword competition.

The ever impressive Lara won gold on her first time of entering Individual Pole Arm!

Not only that but Lara went on to defended her Female Long Sword title making her a three time World Champion in Long Sword!

The Irish 5's team also gave it their all winning a testing 6 round fight against Estonia and nearly beating Germany. To Anthony, Barra, Brendan, Piotr, Piotr S and Stijn it was an honour to stand and fight beside you.

None of this would have been possible without our supporters in the Ukraine and at home. A special mention to Dylan Nolan who was indispensable throughout the championships.

Beir Bua! MACI Family!
