25kg powerlifting plates just hit different. It’s hard to describe just how much heavier they feel than normal plates. But we love em anyway 😍
Most of our clients have busy lives and want the biggest bang for their buck during training sessions.
As much as they love being in the gym, they don’t want to be here any longer than necessary to get results. So we use A LOT of supersets to save time and amplify results.
This is one of our favourites.
Heavy dips are the squats of upper body training. They work almost everything.
Sumo deadlifts are a great way to get more b***y and leg work in without over stressing the lower back.
“Heavy” is of course relative – heavy for Barry meant strapping a plate to him. We’ve other members who can’t use their own bodyweight, so we support them with band assistance.
Both work hard, both are challenged appropriately, and both continue to make progress.
Clever eh?
PS – if you’re gonna try this yourself, aim for around 6-8 reps on the dips and sumo deadlifts, do 4-6 sets, and rest 90s – 2 minutes after each round
ou’re probably deadlifting wrong. Especially if you don’t feel your hamstrings or feel shaky/off balance during reps. Spend the next 90 seconds learning why your centre of gravity and foot position on deadlifts are probably the 2 most important things you’ve never thought about 🏋️♀️💪

What do you say about one of your most consistent and hard working members?
I wish we could take credit for Evelyn's results - but really all we can do is give her a big high 5 for consistently showing up over the last 3 years, working hard every session, and always bringing a smile.
Having a place where you're happy to train, love the vibe and look forward to showing up to each day is probably the single most important for your results. Effort compounds over time, and if you stop showing up, the results will stop too.
Ya can't just fitness for 6 weeks at a time, it has to become something that integrates into your lifestyle if you want to see long term success, increased energy and happiness.
You could train in the "best" gym in Dublin but if you hate it and the trainers are dicks, you won't last long.
Jussyain' :)

One of the most frustrating things we hear at RevFit is "I don't think I'll be fit enough / strong enough to start, so I might just do a bit myself for a while and then join when I'm ready".
I can't even begin to explain how much BS this is. And it's BS for one simple reason.
We literally could not care less how fit or strong you are.
It's like waiting to go to a doctor until you feel a bit better.
Or not starting school until you can already do basic addition.
Your job is not to be fit and strong. Our job is to make you that way.
So sure, you could struggle on your own not knowing what to do, waste time, get injured and give up. Or you could come join us and make more progress in your first 6 weeks following our plan than you would in 6 months on your own.
Obviously post COVID we've had an influx of newbies who've never been members of gyms before (some will even be reading his mail - hi!).
Our coaching team REALLY couldn't care less about how strong or fit you are. It makes absolutely no difference to us.
In fact, it's probably MORE rewarding helping someone who has never been in a gym before, and wouldn't know a dumbbell from a cowbell, see what their body is capable of.
Because if you give it a few weeks, your body will do AMAZING things. Things I won't even mention now because you wouldn't believe me now if I were to tell you.
But it will take a bit of time. You can't just join a gym and jump under a barbell and start slinging mad weights. I won't sugar coat it for you
It will take work. But it will be worth it.

🤐 **Exercise is something you GET to do, not HAVE to do**
It's really really REALLY important to remember that training is something that should be a fun process that adds to your life.
If you're constantly stressed about workouts, worried about what you're eating, never able to do anything but track calories and train 6x per week, you're set up for failure long term.
Try backing off the intensity a bit, have some fun, smile and remember - exercise is something you GET to do, not something you HAVE to do :)

Lockdown has robbed us of some great members as they relocate around the city and country, but we always love seeing messages like this when they depart. Thank you Martin ♥️

Niall’s undergone his own transformation over the last 12 months gaining a significant amount of muscle and strength after retiring from playing football. He knows exactly what it takes to create and follow a program that builds serious strength and muscle.
Despite being a large and strong man he’s know for how friendly he is and always has a welcoming smile, encouraging words and a (socially distanced!) pat on the back for new members.

We use low impact cardio machines and heart rate monitors during all our training sessions. It doesn't matter whether you're super fit and can run marathons, or struggle to get up the stairs without being out of breath - we'll match your cardio intensity to your current fitness levels so you can gain without strain.
