*** Leading Diver 2025 ***
12 candidates travelled to the beautiful village of Portmagee in west Kerry. They were greeted with poor weather and a big swell which would certainly be a good test of their dive leadership skills, as they completed the final module of the Diver 3* programme.
The Candidates were from, Kilkee sac, UL sac, UCC sac, Blackwater sac, Kish sac, Dalkey Scubadivers, Mullingar sac, Offaly sac, Inishowen sac, Sheephaven sac and Rosses Snorkelling club.
All 12 candidates were successful. The Leading Diver grade is the third stage in a process of diver training offered by Diving Ireland and trains a diver to safely lead groups of divers of all experience levels. A successful candidate will have excellent organising and incident management skills and will be capable of leading dives in varying conditions, up to a max depth of 45m.
A big congratulations to all candidates who passed. Diving Ireland are very lucky to have gained such excellent new leaders.

WE ARE BEYOND EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE OUR NEXT EVENT ON OUR CALENDAR …’THE DEEP CLEAN’. 🌊 🤿 🧼🎉
are so kind to collaborate with us on this one and now have 17 diving clubs around Ireland signed up to join this event 💚
So we all know how much we love cleaning on land 🏖️ , but we are so aware of how much pollution gets pulled out to the sea and can get stuck there, which means we look to scuba divers, free divers and snorkelers to help, we will also be joining one of the clubs for the event… FOMO 🤿 😂😍
We have over 200 signups within all the clubs and we can’t wait to see what as ever the weight and the ‘weird and wonderful’ that is pulled from the sea bed.
Ireland is one of the richest countries in the world for marine life 🐟 and coral 🪸, which we need to protect from pollution of all types, and obviously keeping our waterways, sea and oceans clean means we are also helping save the planet 🌍
This is the first ever national underwater cleanup and it will be happening on the same weekend as World Cleanup Day… 🌍 🧹 🧼
A HUGE thank you to all individuals in the Diving Clubs that signed up and also Diving Ireland for agreeing to collaborate with us on this event 🙏💚 🤿🐳🐬🐟🐠🐡🐋🦈🦭🦑🦀🐙
