Here are a couple of our NYC sailors in Lough Derg Yacht Club. Wishing all the sailors a great weekend participating in the Opi Nationals. Our thanks as always to the wonderful volunteers from Dromineer & the surrounding areas who have made us feel most welcome.

Some Lasers sailors coming into to the NYC after 6 races on Dublin Bay earlier today.
A big Irish welcome to all the participants of the Laser 4.7 World Championship that are taking place in Dún Laoghaire right now.
Conditions have been mixed so far with the fleets now dividing into Gold and Silver.
The event is being hosted by The Royal St. George Yacht Club and the National Yacht Club. The event is supported by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and Fáilte Ireland.
Our summer courses are busy but there are still some places on our final course which start next Tuesday, 3rd August

NYC competitors endure hot and challenging conditions at Lough Ree Yacht Club for the Connaught Championships.
Strong performances from all sailors, Ava Ennis, Theo Madigan and Marie Butler in Senior Fleet along with Jonathan Dempsey, Louise Hanley and James Gorman for the two-day event which ran 5 races in very light sailing conditions.Huge thanks as always to everyone involved in Lough Ree YC for hosting such a fantastic event.

Great to see the Regatta Fleet sailing at Malahide Yacht Club last weekend for the Opi Leinster’s. Fantastic results including a 3rd for NYC sailor Louise Hanley. Congratulations 🥳

NYC’s 29er sailors travelled to Crosshaven with great determination to take part in the two day 2021 AIB 29er national Championships 3-4 July.
NYC helm and crew duo Sam Ledoux and Ethan Spain took 5th place and Lauren O’Callaghan provided a solid performance with RSGYC crew Elysia O’Leary reaching 11th place. Helm Rachel Flood got off to a good start until crew Lily Dwyer was injured and had to retire. Rachel showed her grit by taking on a new crew for Sunday and completed the series as Lily recovered.
