⭐7 Years of White Lotus ⭐

A bit late posting (my posts always sit unfinished in drafts for ages and most never get posted) but May marked the 7 year anniversary of White Lotus.

Over the years there have been hundreds of classes, lots of stretching and strengthening, plenty of deep breaths, lots of laughs, and a lot of learning along the way.

What started as a passion for movement has become something I’m incredibly grateful for. Teaching has introduced me to so many lovely people and reminded me again and again how important it is to take time to slow down, build strength, improve flexibility, and look after ourselves and our well being.

Thank you to everyone who has ever come to a class, recommended me to a friend, supported me, or simply kept showing up each week.

Seven years in and I still genuinely love what I do ❤️

Here’s to the next 7 years 😀

A snippet of today’s class that I covered at Yogahub Bluebell.

The theme was circles, bringing strength, mobility and movement into hips and shoulders as well as building core strength. We spent time in each exercise, working through different variations / modifications and building strength with repetitions. We then moved through one repetition of each in a Pilates flow :)

Mini Ball Part 2- Creating Instability

As well as being used to create stability, the mini ball can also be used to create a gentle sense of instability. Because the ball is soft and moves slightly under the body, it challenges your balance and control. This means your deeper stabilising muscles, particularly through the core, hips and pelvis, have to work a bit harder to keep you steady.

Rather than relying on momentum or gripping with the bigger muscles, you’re encouraged to move more slowly and with control. Even small movements, like knee folds or toe taps, become more demanding because the body has to continuously adjust to stay balanced, helping you build better control, coordination, and awareness in how you move.

The mini balls really do the trick - you can really feel those muscles working. Sore today, stronger tomorrow 💪😃

Pilates Mini Ball

I love using props in class — they can help with alignment, add a bit of challenge, and bring some variety (and a bit of fun too).

In this week’s classes, we’ve been using a small Pilates ball. It’s a simple prop, but really effective. In some exercises it helps support

In our bridge work, placing the ball between the knees can help to support stability and alignment by:

• Helping to keep the knees, hips and feet aligned
• Gently targeting the muscles of the inner thighs and pelvic floor
• Encouraging better engagement of glutes and deep core muscles
• Helping you to feel more stable through the movement

A small change, but one that can really help to support how you move.
