“After 2 years out of action, I’m finally back💪🏼. After having to go through 6months of scans and appointments to find the extent of the damage I finally got a full job done on my shoulder last October the year before all that I literally tore my finger off.
It felt like everything was trying to keep me away😂
But two years later I’m ready to get back at it and can finally start building some strength back up💪🏼 —moving, lifting, learning, and coaching others to love it as much as I do.

The deadlift 😦

One of the toughest exercises to teach as a trainer is the deadlift and looking down at the bar can be a very scary moment for a lot of people. 100 things going through the mind trying to remember every instruction you’ve been given while also lifting what for most people is the heaviest exercise in a program. Trying to teach someone to keep a neutral spine or shoulders back can take time and a lot of patience and takes time to get it right but it is worth it so if your in a gym and don’t feel confident enough to set up a deadlift or don’t feel your doing it right don’t be afraid to ask for help everybody was once new to every exercise.

Im putting this up because I don’t think anyone should ever compare themselves to someone else.
Although the gym gets bad press because at the start of every year people walk into a gym and see someone spending too long looking at themselves in the mirror and automatically think the worst of them but the truth is at one time or another that person also walked into the gym for the first time not having a clue what to do or what was going on and them extra few seconds in the mirror can sometimes be what that person needs to give some self love and to tell themselves that getting up for the last 3 months at 6am everyday has been worth it.

I had a client tell me yesterday that she has never gone to the gym because its full of people that are “vain” so I told her I want to change her mindset on that because the gym has literally every type of person.

I then proceeded to ask her what her goal was and why she’s got in contact with me now to start training and she takes out her phone and shows me a picture of a young actor and said her body is amazing.

So this has brought me to put this post up to say to people… if you have a picture of someone else on your phone as your what you want to look like in 2022 then weight isn’t the problem it’s how you see yourself and that in my mind is a lot more important than any size dress or any summer bikini picture and for most people changing how you see yourself can be the biggest transformation.

Losing weight is not an overnight fix and depending on where you want to be it’s a long tough process but choosing to go to the gym or not that’s everyone’s personal preference for a lot of people including the ones spending that extra few seconds looking in the mirror going to the gym helps how they see themselves but whether you go to the gym or not never feel like you want to look like someone else FEEL COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OWN BODY.
