Graduate Spotlight: Indre Galackiene () 🌟

Since completing her 300hr Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with us in April 2025, Indre’s journey with yoga has continued to unfold in a deeply grounded and meaningful way.

One of the things she valued most during the training was being guided by a variety of teachers, each bringing their own unique perspective and experience. Through this, Indre found herself building greater trust in her own practice, listening more closely to herself, and discovering what she truly wants to share with others through teaching.

For Indre, yoga is not about perfection or performance — it’s about softness, awareness, and coming home to the body. Her classes create calm, supportive spaces where breath, movement, and stillness gently guide people back to themselves, exactly as they are in that moment.

Since graduating, beautiful opportunities have naturally begun to flow her way — from teaching regular classes to sharing workshops and being part of retreats.

You can now find Indre teaching at Barefoot Yoga Studio and across Flyefit gyms around Dublin, continuing to share yoga with warmth, care, and authenticity.

Follow her journey here: 💛

We’re so proud to see Indre growing into her own unique teaching voice and creating spaces where people can slow down, reconnect, and simply be. ✨

We asked women’s health physiotherapist and yoga teacher Orla Cross :
Why is pelvic floor health so important in the postnatal period?

“Because the pelvic floor has undergone significant load, stretch and sometimes injury during pregnancy and birth. Restoring its function supports continence, core stability, sexual comfort, and confidence in movement. It’s also the foundation for returning to exercise safely.”

We’re delighted to welcome Orla for a special online guest session, focusing on postnatal recovery, pelvic floor health, and supporting mothers safely after birth. This clinical insight is always a highlight for participants and adds real depth to your understanding of the postnatal body.

If you’re teaching (or want to teach) in this space, this knowledge is essential.

We asked Melissa Curtis: How do you help teachers feel confident managing babies in class? 👩‍🍼

"We take the fear out of it by making it practical and realistic with lots of attention grabbers and how to deal with a change in the atmosphere. Although we make sure the parent gets as much out of the class as possible, the babies are always a part of the practice.

I teach teachers how to work with babies, how to read cues, adapt in the moment and create a sequence that allows both mum and baby to be supported with lots of fun too. We also talk honestly about what to expect, such as crying, feeding, sleeping, unpredictability and how to stay grounded through it all.

Confidence comes from understanding, being well-trained, preparation and permission to not have everything perfectly controlled. Yes, this class is very different to any other class you will teach, but the rewards are endless."

We asked Melissa what inspired her to create the Mum & Baby Yoga Teacher Training…

"When myself and Lisa Wilkinson , owner of The elbowroom started the Pregnancy Yoga Training, we realised there was a huge need for a follow-on class. Most women love to continue classes with their Pregnancy Yoga Teacher once baby is born so it seemed like such a natural progression.

There was very little around that also focused on the parent as well as the baby. The only classes available were baby yoga. New mums need to feel held, understood, and safely guided back into their bodies. I came across incredible pregnancy yoga teachers and yoga teachers from our training, who wanted to support this stage of life but didn’t feel equipped, especially when babies were involved. And I saw mums navigating recovery, exhaustion, and identity shifts without enough informed support.

We created this training to bridge that gap, to give teachers the knowledge, confidence, and sensitivity to truly serve women during this rollercoaster, transformative chapter in their lives as well as help them find their tribe and integrate into the community."
