A Practice of Returning ✨

As summer invites us outward into busyness, plans, movement and connection, yin offers something equally valuable, a space to pause, soften, listen and return to ourselves.

This June, I’m inviting you to join me for a 4 Week Summer Yin Journey.

Each Wednesday evening we’ll explore yin postures, breathwork, stillness and deep rest, supporting the body, calming the nervous system, and creating space to notice what lies beneath the noise of everyday life.

What I love most about yin is that it asks very little of us, yet offers so much in return.

This hour is for you.
An hour to pause.
An hour to listen.
An hour to reconnect with yourself.

In Chinese Medicine, summer is associated with the Fire Element and the Heart. 💛
This season invites us to cultivate qualities of joy, connection, openness and vitality, while also creating space for balance and emotional harmony.

One of our classes will also include myofascial release balls, a gentle yet powerful practice that can be a complete game changer for releasing tension and inviting greater freedom into the body.

☀️ June Bank Holiday Weekend & The Week Ahead ☀️
I hope you’re all enjoying a beautiful Bank Holiday weekend and finding moments to slow down, rest and recharge.
As we welcome June tomorrow, here’s a little look at what’s coming up this week…
🌿 Bank Holiday Monday | Summer Flow, Yin & Yoga Nidra
Join me tomorrow morning at 10:15am, few spaces left.
We’ll begin with a gentle meditation before moving through a nourishing flow practice, followed by a longer yin yoga session and a short Yoga Nidra to finish. A beautiful way to ease into a new week, moving, breathing, noticing how the body feels, and giving yourself permission to simply be.

Back at The Yoga Lounge for our morning Wake Up Flow class, a lovely way to bring energy, mobility and focus into the middle of your week.

Summer often invites us outward, to do more, see more, be more. While that can be wonderful, it’s equally important to create space to turn inward and reconnect with ourselves.
Yin Yoga offers that opportunity. Time to pause, breathe, release tension, nourish the nervous system and simply listen to what your body is asking for.
Perhaps this June, your weekly yin practice can become your non-negotiable appointment with yourself.

SUMMER YIN | A Practice of Returning

This June, I’m inviting you into a four week Summer Yin journey, an opportunity to slow down, soften, listen, and commit to yourself through a regular weekly practice.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, summer is connected to the Fire Element and to the Heart, Small Intestine, Pericardium, and Triple Burner meridian lines, associated with joy, connection, openness, communication, vitality, emotional balance, and the circulation of energy throughout the body.

While summer naturally draws us outward into movement, busyness, stimulation, and doing, yin offers something equally important, a space to pause long enough to actually hear ourselves again.

Through our yin shapes, breathwork, stillness, noticing, listening, and deep rest, we’ll gently support the fascia, joints, connective tissue, nervous system, and energetic body.

Over the month we’ll explore shoulder and chest opening, upper back release, neck and jaw softening, inner arm meridian lines, supported heart openers, and one evening of myofascial release using therapy balls for areas where many of us commonly hold tension, especially the jaw, upper back, chest, and shoulder girdle.

What I find most beautiful about yin is its simplicity. Regular yin practice teaches us how to notice more honestly, regulate the nervous system, quieten the mind, and reconnect with ourselves beneath the noise of everyday life.

While drop ins are always welcome, this offering is intended as a monthly journey, a way of honouring your practice and creating consistency through the month of June.

As the evenings grow brighter and the world around us begins to feel more alive, open, and full… there is something deeply special about choosing to arrive in stillness.

Entering into Summer often asks us to do more, move more, be more.
But Yin invites something quieter.
A conscious softening.
A return.

This Wednesday evening, I invite you to join me on the mat exactly as you are.

You may arrive feeling stressed, grieving, overwhelmed, joyful, tense, heavy, hopeful… carrying the residue of your day, your week, or simply the fullness of life.

Yin asks for none of that to be fixed.

Only that you pause.
Breathe.
Feel.
Notice.
Soften your grip.
Come home to yourself.

Across the month of May, our Wednesday practice will gently unfold as a journey back inward… a quiet thread of connection through breath, body, and stillness.

Week 1 💫Arriving
A soft landing into down regulation… slowing the nervous system, noticing the breath, and creating space to settle.

Week 2 💫Softening
An invitation to gently release held tension, explore sensation with curiosity, and soften beneath the surface.

Week 3 💫Receiving
Opening into heart space, front body awareness, and allowing ourselves to expand with steadiness and ease.

Whole body stillness, deep breath, and a grounding return home to self.
