Dun Laoghaire Dinghies

Tuesday night may have been a gusty squally night in Dun Laoghaire Harbour but we managed to run three races. They were full of thrills and spills but the sailors seemed to really enjoy the experience.

Finally! Some Tuesday night dinghy racing! The weather was still playing tricks on us though but we managed one short race in the harbour.

DBSC dinghies Tuesday nights started last night with a chilly edge to the wind. A lumpy sea which wasn't the most pleasant either. However, the welcome return of many of boats and crews we've seen before made up for the discomfort. Two races got the Tues night series off to a good start.

We raced in the harbour last night due to a big rolling sea just outside the harbour mouth. We managed to get two good races in before the light went.
We were kept busy with someone on lifeboat duty, someone else having a birthday and someone not in the best of health so missing our second last Tuesday! The roundings were entertaining and busy with a few shouts heard!

After 3 cancellations we managed to get two breezy races in on Tuesday in the harbour. We were a little short handed on the committee boat as well as being very busy with roundings so there are only a few photos.

Well, we managed to start a race last night....but the wind died....then came in little patches...and changed direction so we ended up N over A. Race abandoned. Had some competition on starting line ...😜 you know who you were!

Last night's weather and tide in Dublin Bay made for interesting night conditions. Having a general recall for one start certainly woke up the race admin team......as if they had ever needed it! 🤣

Last week's Tuesday night DBSC dinghy races were busy affairs. Although some competitors do need to read their sailing instructions especially about how many rounds to do!!! 😏
