Dun Laoghaire Dinghies

The DBSC Dinghy Tuesday night series came to an end last night. The final night is always a challenge as it is a race against the clock as we do need to be able to see the numbers on the sails and, more seriously, the boats need to get home safely. We managed to get two races in with a mad scramble on the starting line for the 2nd race. Some sailors need to refresh their knowledge of the U flag!!!

Just one last Tuesday remains in the DBSC Dinghy Tuesday series. We had one longer race with the traditional triangle, sausage, triangle course in last week's race. This caught one or two sailors off guard. See you tomorrow night!

The weather allowed DBSC to run two decent races for the dinghies on Tuesday night in Scotsman's Bay. Interesting cloud formations and a rainbow base kept the race admin team happy (along with the racing obviously!).

Tuesday dinghy racing in Dublin Bay has been tricky this year due mostly to a lack of wind. We did manage to get one race in this Tuesday.

Tuesday night may have been a gusty squally night in Dun Laoghaire Harbour but we managed to run three races. They were full of thrills and spills but the sailors seemed to really enjoy the experience.

Finally! Some Tuesday night dinghy racing! The weather was still playing tricks on us though but we managed one short race in the harbour.

DBSC dinghies Tuesday nights started last night with a chilly edge to the wind. A lumpy sea which wasn't the most pleasant either. However, the welcome return of many of boats and crews we've seen before made up for the discomfort. Two races got the Tues night series off to a good start.
