🏃🏼‍♀️That’s a wrap on the 2026 Track & Field season! 🏃🏻

The weather at Ardee & District A.C.’s Annual Open Sports Day today gave us a gentle reminder that our track & field season is coming to an end and cross-country weather is well and truly on its way! 😅🌧️

Despite the rain, we had a fantastic group of Kilkerley AC athletes out competing and finishing the season in style!

🏅 U7: Ada Lennon and Daire Mulholland both took part in the U7 race and came home with medals!

🥉 U8: Finn Lennon took a brilliant 3rd place in the 200m.

🥇🥈 U10: Matthew Mulholland had another fantastic day, taking 1st in the 60m and 2nd in the 200m.

👏 U10: Grace Lennon finished a brilliant 4th in the Long Jump.

👏 U11: James O’Callaghan put in a great performance in a tough race.

🥉 U16:Bébhinn Harris put in a great run to take 3rd place in the 100m.

🥉Junior /U19: Naoise Harris raced to a fantastic 3rd place in the 100m.

A huge well done to all our athletes who competed today and throughout the track & field season! 💙

And a big thank you to Ardee & District A.C. for a successful event and a great way to wrap up our track & field calendar.

Now it’s time to swap the track for the fields as we look forward to the start of cross-country season! 🌧️🍂🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Matthew put in another brilliant performance at the Boyne AC Sports Day today, bagging 1st place in the U10 80m sprint! 🏃‍♂️💨

Just a reminder that all athletes are welcome to attend on both Tuesday and Thursday evenings. There is no longer a designated night for athletes who are competing everyone is welcome at either or both sessions. We look forward to seeing you all! 💚💛

💚💛 Proud Day for Kilkerley AC 💛💚

Today, Mary, Anna and Lily Carragher had the honour of representing Kilkerley AC at the special Athletics Ireland celebration of during the 123.ie National Senior Track & Field Championships at Morton Stadium.

Ciara’s remarkable career as a European Champion, Olympian and Irish record holder has inspired generations of athletes across Ireland. It was a privilege for our club to be part of this unique on-track tribute celebrating one of Ireland’s greatest sporting ambassadors! 💪

The girls also had the opportunity to meet Ciara afterwards, a memory they will treasure for years to come.

A huge thank you to Athletics Ireland for inviting clubs from across the country to be part of such a fitting tribute to one of Ireland’s greatest athletes! ☘️🇮🇪

Well done to Mary, Anna and Lily for representing Kilkerley AC with such pride. We hope this special experience inspires them to keep chasing their own athletics dreams. 💚💛

📣 We Need You! 📣

Our club is still growing which definitely isn’t a bad problem to have but it does mean we need more coaches to help support our young athletes.

A Level 1 Athletics Coaching Course will take place later this year and is a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting involved. Whether you’re a parent, former athlete, current athlete or simply someone who would like to give something back to the club, we’d love to hear from you.

🏃‍♀️ Proposed Course Dates:

📅 Weekend 1 – 25th & 26th September
📅 Weekend 2 – 9th & 10th October

The Friday sessions are short online sessions (2-3 hours), while the Saturday sessions take place on the track and focus on practical coaching skills.

No previous coaching experience is required.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, now is the perfect time! 🙌

Well done to our senior athletes on completing the Navy Bank 5K this evening! Fantastic running by everyone! 💚💛🙌

An evening well spent at the annual Blackrock Athletic Club Beach Races which took place on Thursday the 18th of June! 🌊🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🍦

This is one of our favourite events on the athletics calendar and once again it didn’t disappoint! 🙌 It seems the tougher the conditions, the better our athletes perform! Running through sand and water is no easy feat, but our athletes rose to the challenge and came home with a fantastic haul of sandy medals across all age groups. 🏅

A huge thank you to everyone who represented our club with pride and cheered on your fellow runners! 💪
