So here's the Top 16 for Finals night this coming Saturday in The Northend Bar...

This is what nearly 120 players competing @ different events has been whittled down to...

Overall winner on Saturday night gets the Paddy Dixon Cup (sponsored by Dermot Ralph)...

1st games to start @ 8pm...

Best of 7 x 501 up to semifinals, semifinals are best of 9 & the Final is best of 11...

Top 4 players (Conor McArdle, Gerry Rice, Conor Dunn & Lee Smyth) will be seeded in the draw and will therefore each be assigned on different boards...

A reserve list is still in place if anyone can't make it this Saturday night...

Sunday afternoon saw the 1st Youth event of the Northend Bar Summer Series Of Darts.
The competition was open to players aged 21 or under.
Played in a round robin format, the quality of darts was exceptional at times.
Board 1 saw Ryan Woods get his afternoon off to a great start with a 2-0 win and this was followed by Ryan Mc Entee getting a win over Stephen Clarke in the deciding game and after that everyone else in the group were winning games and Stephen Clarke would beat Ryan in the Final game of the group to see him and Ryan both progress to the knockout stages.
Board 2 saw 3 Dundalk Youth Dart players drawn in a a group alongside one of their coaches, Cara O'Shaughnessy.
Jake Fox started off his afternoon with a 2-0 win over Cillian Mc Mahon and Jake went onto win all his group games and each of his opponents also got wins in the group and qualification from the group went down to leg difference with Cara getting a narrow margin of victory over Cillian Mc Mahon and Reece Murray.
Group 3 saw a few of the fancied players to go well in the competition drawn in the same group.
Tom Clarke gave Callum Mc Crave a bit of a scare in their match before Callum would go onto secure a 2-0 win.
Lee Smyth dominated the group with 3 wins.
Tom Clarke would cause a small shock by beating Noah Fry in their deciding game and qualification for the knockout stages in this group also went to a countback with Callums narrow 2-1 defeat by Noah Fry securing him best runner up spot in his group.
Group 4 saw Odhran Mc Shane go through the group unbeaten and Tiernan Callans 2-1 win over Rory Bell getting him through as best runner up.
The 1/4 finals saw each group winner playing a runner up from a different group and each group winner would win their 1/4 final match and go through to the semifinals.
The semifinals saw Odhran Mc Shane's form continuing with a defeat over Lee Smyth and Jake Fox would eventually beat Callum Mc Crave 3-2 in the deciding match.
The final saw Odhran running out a 4-0 winner and the 2026 Youth Cup Winner but it wasn't one way traffic as the scoreline may suggest.
Jake Fox gave a good account of himself against his older opponent and threw well all day against some more experienced opponents.

Everyone involved in our darts events would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the family of Charlie "Martin" Mackin after his recent sudden passing.

Martin was a great supporter of a lot of social events over the last few years and took great pleasure in Damh O'Thuaidhs league win last year.

May he R.I.P.

Thursday night saw the penultimate event before the Finals Night on Saturday 5th September for the Paddy Dixon Cup take place.
Playing for the Corbett Cup, last played for in 1939, were those who had played in 3 or more events in the Summer Series Of Darts but not qualify for Finals Night.
From the offset, Shane Cairns was hitting multiple big scores and also hit a 127 by finishing on the bullseye to progress through the early rounds but he would eventually be stopped in his tracks by Jack Riordan in the board final.
Jordan McInerney had gotten through to his board final but he couldn't find a way past Aidan Thompson.
Ciaran Markey had gotten a few good wins but couldn't get the better of Padraic O'Rourke in their board final.
Ciaran Treanor was also building up a good head of steam but he would eventually lose out to Simon Wykes in the board final.
Jack Riordan provided stiff opposition for Simon Wykes in the semi-final with Jack hitting a 180 and numerous 100+ scores but couldn't get the better of Simon.
Meanwhile in the other semifinal it was a good ding-dong battle between Aidan Thompson and Padraic O'Rourke with Aidan eventually progressing.
The final would see Simon go onto lift the Corbett Cup despite Aidans best efforts and in doing so became the 1st winner of the Corbett Cup since its inception into the Summer Series Of Darts in the Northend Bar.

The old saying of "form is temporary, class is permanent" runs through for Brendan Dolan...

After a couple of great wins yesterday, including beating "Luke The Nuke" he was unlucky to lose the final 8-6 against Luke Humphries.

Tickets are selling out well for this exhibition in the Northend Bar, if they all sell out there will be no option to pay on the night.

So here's the Cup for tomorrow nights competition for all those who played in 3 or more events in the Summer Series but didn't qualify for finals night.

This cup is a truly one of a kind cup, last played for (as far as we know) in 1939.

The last winner was S.C.Corbett in 1939, hence the name of the Cup Competition.

We try our best to reuse older cups, they add a touch of class to the competitions.

Is there an older darts cup played for anywhere local...???

Criteria is that 3 or more events in the Summer Series must have been played in...

€5 entry and all entry fees will be matched so if there's 24 playing on the night @ €5 a head then the prize pot on the night will be €240...
