KERRY WAY ULTRA LITE 2026.
The Kerry Way Ultra Lite was held on Saturday 5th September, 2026.
This is a 58km distance of the official Kerry way, starting in Seem, runners head through Templenoe and on to Kenmare, tackling rocky mountain paths, forest tracks, boggy sections, ocean cliff edges and rural roads.
The final stretch passes through Killarney National Park and finishes via Torc waterfall and into the racecourse.
Huge congratulations to club member Barry Quin on completing this massive challenge πββοΈππ»
An amazing achievement, he finished 44th place out of 194 participants and in a super time of 7 hrs 18mins, what a result!π₯
All the training and hard work he has put into this has really paid off. Well done Barry ππ»π

VERY PINK RUN 2026.
Some of our members met up in Dundrum on Sunday 30th August to do the annual virtual 5k Pink Run.
This event takes place in Cork, Kilkenny and Dublin and can also be done virtually, raising money for vital funds for ongoing research awareness for breast cancer.
The girls ran a 5k loop around the duckpond and enjoyed refreshments in The Shook Cow Coffee Shop in Dundrum afterwards. A lovely morning was had by all. Well done ladies ππ
Very Pink Run

MOOREABBEY 10/10 ROAD RACE 2026.
Mooreabbey Milers AC hosted their annual 10 mile Road Race on Sunday 30th August, 2026. The event also included a 10k distance.
It was a very wet morning but thankfully the rain held off for the race. The route is quite a challenging one and takes place around the picturesque village of Galbally.
We had 10 club members travel to compete over the two distances.
In the 10k distance we had 6 athletes race. First back for the club, in 3rd place and the first woman to cross the line was Dyphna Ryan in a brilliant time of 38.09, she was followed by Evan Ryan who was 3rd male and also got new 10k pb in 40.54, congratulations to both π
They were followed in by Catherine Fogarty 43.37, Laura McCarthy Armstrong 47.39, Ben English 43.13 & John Barry 56.16.
We had 4 members compete in the 10 mile distance. First back for the club was Karen Coughlan 79.54, followed by Emily Leahy 80.22, Edel Hayes 90.04 & John O' Brien 101.13.

SURVI5 CHALLENGE
On Saturday 29th August Cappawhite Gym held a community fitness challenge on the grounds of Cappawhite GAA pitch, where their gym is based.
There was an option of doing a hyrox style full or half version challenges where participants competed in a series of endurance running with functional strength stations.
There was also a kids fun challenge on the day.
Well done to all our juvenile and senior members who competed. Congratulations to Ruaidhri Devitt who was 2nd overall in the full challenge π₯πͺπ»π

ALL IRELAND COMMUNITY GAMES FINALS 2026.
Huge congratulations to Juvenile member Evie Farrell who competed in The Community Games National Finals in SETU Sports Complex, Carlow on Saturday 22nd August,2026.
She ran superbly to reach and compete in the final heats in the U10 200m and came a fantastic 7th place. What an amazing achievement and experience for her, well done Evie ππ»ββοΈπͺπ»ππ»ππ» π₯°

IMRA GALTEEMORE 13K MOUNTAIN RACE 2026.
The IMRA Munster Galteemore mountain race took place on Sunday 23rd August, 2026.
This is an extreme 13k Hill race which covers 1300m of ascent, with runners racing to the top of Galteemore & back over the peaks of Cush & Galtybeg.
Congratulations and huge well done to Barry Hartnett who won the race, the 1st Tipperary man to win this race and another great win over the trails by this super athlete π₯πͺπ»ππ»

IMRA CUSH -GALTEES MOUNTAIN RACE 2026.
The IMRA Munster Cush -Galtees Mountain Race took place on Sunday 23rd August 2026.
The 4.5km race was over moderate terrain with 400m of climbing and a 500m ascent. It was a lovely bright and sunny morning for racing.
We had three juvenile members take part.
Well done to Bella Curling, Isobel Hartnett & Katelyn Shanahan on their brilliant running over the course βοΈπββοΈ
These three ladies will be well ready with their excellent endurance and fitness for the upcoming cross-country season

BOSTON SCIENTIFIC HALF MARATHON 2025.
The annual and very popular Boston Scientific Half Marathon was held in Clonmel on Sunday 23rd August, 2026. A race that's always a great one on the running calendar and it's hosted by Clonmel AC.
The weather conditions were perfect with a cooler morning and no wind. The route is a challenging tough and hilly course.
Our club was well represented with 13 members taking part in the long 21k distance.
Well done to all of the following who all had fantastic times and ran brilliantly .
