❤️ Protecting Young Hearts at Enniscorthy Town FC
We’re delighted to announce that Enniscorthy Town FC will host a dedicated heart screening day for our 12–18 year-old players on 29th October, delivered by the Dillon Quirke Foundation.
The Foundation was established in memory of Dillon Quirke, the talented young Tipperary hurler who tragically died from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) in 2022. Since then, his family have turned that unimaginable loss into a powerful national initiative focused on raising awareness and providing cardiac screening for young athletes across Ireland.
For us as a club, player welfare has to extend beyond what happens on the pitch.
Some serious underlying heart conditions can exist without obvious symptoms, and cardiac screening can help identify issues that may otherwise go undetected. The Dillon Quirke Foundation’s programme is designed specifically to help protect young athletes and their families through early screening and awareness.
By hosting this screening day, we’re giving our young players access to an important health check in a familiar club environment and continuing to strengthen the standards of care and responsibility we want Enniscorthy Town FC to represent.
We’re very proud to support the work of the Dillon Quirke Foundation and to play a small part in helping protect the next generation of young athletes.

We will be partnering with our neighbours and good friends at Sacre Coeur ABC Pearse Road who will provide the venue on the day.
