The Public Access Defibrillator that was located between The Old Salt and Gala is no longer in place, leaving a gap in lifesaving coverage in the centre of Foxford. We’re asking residents, businesses, and community groups to help us replace this vital defibrillator.
A new Public Access unit costs approximately €1500, and donations can be made through the iDonate link. Alongside replacing the defibrillator, we are beginning the process of setting up a Defibrillator / Community First Responder (CFR) Scheme in Foxford. This scheme will train local volunteers to respond to cardiac emergencies, provide CPR, and use defibrillators while the ambulance service is en route. CFR groups save lives, having one in Foxford will dramatically improve emergency response times. If we raise more than the €1500 needed, we will use the additional funds to purchase training equipment or install a second public access defibrillator elsewhere in town, expanding coverage even further. Every euro helps.
