The training day a couple of weeks ago was simply fab!! I had such an enjoyable day out!
The venue, garden, settings, and food were amazing. We learned so much from various speakers including Jacki , Brittany Sarah and Taylor
It was brilliant to put real faces to names I follow on socials, and to get the chance swap stories, ideas, seeds and plants!
The cherry on the cake was getting to pose alongside Ann for Alicia's featured story in the .

ππTulipsππ
I didn't grow many tulips or spring flowers generally this year. I decided a later start in the season would allow for more reliable planning with Irish weather π§π¨πͺ
I couldn't resist growing a few though and they are beautiful! Maybe I'll be tempted to grow more next year....ππ±β¨οΈ

Delighted to see so many ladybirds today while trying to cut back perennials and clear beds from w**ds and self seeders like the feverfew in the photo!
Fine line between wanting to leave the flower beds for insects over the winter and wanting to cut them back and cover with silage cover to reduce the workload at this time of year!
Insects definitely won this time, much more work to do!!π€ͺπππ±β¨οΈ

The polytunnel - my gold at the end of the rainbow!!β¨οΈππ±
Really delighted the polytunnel is still standing after the last couple of days weather!! πͺ
Amazing to have it on days like today when you simply wouldn't go out or get anything done without it!πͺπ§π¨βοΈ
Fingers crossed better weather is on the way very soon!

β¨οΈGalway grown dried flowers!π±πβ¨οΈ
I love them for so many reasons, but here are a few..
πThey will last for years!! A uniquely crafted gift for someone to enjoy and admire much longer than possible with fresh flowers.
πThey are so full of texture and variety, different shapes, sizes, and colours. A reminder of the wonder of nature!
πThey are a sustainable option for gifting flowers, grown in Galway from seed, no chemicals, pesticides, dyes or plastic are used, they are purely as nature intended!
If you'd like to gift some, it's now possible to pick them up in Athenry!β€οΈπ«π

Lots of signs that Spring is on the way on a sunny day in Galway!
Also signs that the battle with the rabbits is back on for another year!! π°π¬
Lots of fences to med, windbreak to put up, beds to w**d and cut back and clear ready for the emergence of perennial plants!
Will aim to have this work done for March before planting out any of my new seedlings!π±β¨οΈ
There isn't really an off season!!π΅βπ«ππ
