Hard luck to our u16 Girls who came up short against a very good Salthill Devon team this morning in Drom.

Even tho they didn't win the league,The girls had a brilliant season to push Salthill and East Galway all the way.

Mia Connell had a great season and Emma Walsh despite her very young age has been outstanding all season,New girls Eabha Dankert Jayleesa Murphy Rachel Vignoles and Aila Larrinaga were huge additions to the squad this season.

Well done Brendan and Rebecca for all your fantastic work with this group of girls,Was great to see such huge improvement 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬⚽️⚽️⚽️

Two cracking goals in the 1st 15 minutes decided this game in West's favour,The first came on 12 minutes when Alannah Grant chased a ball to the end line,She then showed great skill to beat two players and curl a beauty into the far corner.

Three minutes later West were 2 to the good when Aila Larrinaga made it 2-0 on 15 minutes with a stunning goal as her 25 yard strike sailed into the top corner.

The game remained even after this with both sides having periods of dominance.

Kilshanvey did pull one back with 5 minutes to go with a deflected effort but West stayed strong and held on for a good 3 points.

The girls deserved a win after some very good performance recently that went unrewarded,Well done to all the players and coaches for their perseverance and good to see them get their rewards 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬⚽️⚽️⚽️

West stayed very much in league contention with a fantastic 1st half performance which paved the way for a brilliant away win.

Elin Finneran set us on our way with a great long range strike,We led 4-1 at the break and it finished 5-2,Regular goalscorers Eabha Dankert and Libby McDonagh added 2 a piece to Finneran's early strike.

In a very professional performance where thw girls played some brilliant football throughout,The backline of Rachel Jayleesa Mia and Ellie were very good throughout.

Arianna and Aila bossed the midfield exchanges and set the tempo for a great performance,Coaches Brendan and Rebecca will be delighted with another 3 points which keeps the title dream very much alive 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬⚽️⚽️⚽️
