Tuam AC had a busy weekend at home and abroad.

Shane Keville and Sean Burke took on a major marathon this morning running the BMW Marathon in Berlin. Both lads had unbelievable runs, finishing sub 3 hours. Well done Shane and Sean. Good training for Dublin.

Back home in Tuam the Intermediate Cross Country was held in the Palace Grounds. This is a tough and hilly route but a good solid ground to run on. Shane Ryan had a very strong race taking 3rd overall in his category, and Gareth O'Connor gave Cross Country a try for the first time. Well done lads.

The Grey Lakes 10km was held in Loughrea, where Patrick Fleming had a good solid run with a 10th overall finish also Timmy Geraghty and Maura Meenaghan had good runs especially with the headwind that hit them coming in by the lake.

Next Saturday 3rd October is the Run Galway Bay 10km, half marathon and full marathon. Good luck to all club athletes competing.

In less than 24 hours the BMW Berlin marathon kicks off. Best of luck to Shane Keville and Sean Burke along with Adrian Connaughton from Clare River Harriers.

Congratulations to those who ran all the way or part of the way from Galway to Tuam yesterday. The 33 km will serve you well in upcoming marathons. Thanks to all who helped out. We're already looking forward to next year's Square to Square!

Can we also say a big thank you to Supervalu Tuam for sponsoring us water along with Supermacs in Eyre Square for letting us use their premises and Claregalway Hotel for runners who needed pit stops. Catherine O'Rourke for all her help on the day along with Claire Conway and Evan Barrows for the water stations. Last but not least this annual event would not be possible without our very own Brendan & Patricia Monaghan. Thanks for being our number one supporters at races and all you do for the club.
