Connacht Aspiring SC 2026

As we round up the weekend, we depart the competition super proud of Team Shark. Every swimmer has walked away with multiple PBs. Numerous top 3 finishes 💪🏻

Such an incredible bunch of young athletes and in the best of company amongst the other Swim Connacht clubs. Big thanks for an exciting weekend of racing.

We were in great hands with coach Ross & Rory all weekend. Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Hat tip to all the parents who fuel the swimmers, fuel the cars and fuel the sideline support and roles. It's a Team effort indeed!

What a day at the Forest Feast Aquasprint A Final in Castlebar! Shark won the Southern Connacht Division shield and finished 3rd overall in the Connacht A Final! 🏆🥉

🥉 Shark

This was last year’s final, postponed from June. Yesterday, 16 swimmers travelled to Castlebar to represent every Shark swimmer who raced through the leagues and earned our place in the final. If only we could have taken every one of ye! This one is for you all. Congratulations! ❤️

A huge thank you to Head Coach Ross and Gráinne for coordinating the galas throughout the year, and to all the coaches who helped along the way. A special thank you to Coach Niall, who was there at every single event for these swimmers. 🙏🏻

Our 16 little VIPs were absolutely outstanding. We are so proud of you all!

🏆 SHARK SWIMMING CLUB ANNUAL AWARDS 2025/26 🦈

What a fantastic evening in the Ardilaun last night for our Annual Awards, with a full house celebrating another brilliant year for Shark Swimming Club.

A huge thank you to all of our swimmers, families, coaches, committee members and volunteers who joined us and helped make the evening so special.

Most importantly, congratulations to all of our award winners and to every Shark swimmer on everything they achieved throughout the 2025/26 season. We are incredibly proud of you all. 💙

Now we’re ready to dive straight into 2026/27! 🦈

As we look back on a fantastic 2025/26 season, we couldn’t quite wrap things up without a special mention for four Sharks who are heading off on their next adventure. ❤️

This past week saw our wonderful Leaving Cert students receive their results and, with that, prepare for the next exciting chapter as they move on to college.

To Ciara, Ewan, Katie & Niamh,

You have been outstanding ambassadors for Shark. You have led by example, not only through your commitment and achievements in the pool, but through your kindness, friendship and the way you have represented our club over the years.

This is about recognising your success as swimmers, but perhaps even more importantly, celebrating the fantastic young people you have grown into. We are incredibly proud to have watched you grow up through Shark and to have played even a small part in your journey.

Your families have also played a huge part in our club over the years, giving their time, support and commitment in so many different ways. Their contribution to Shark has been invaluable and very much part of your journey too. Thankfully, some of them aren’t getting away from us just yet, with younger siblings still here… thank God! 😅

We wish each of you every success and happiness in whatever comes next. There will always be a place for you here, whether that’s in the pool, on deck, or simply coming back to say hello.

🦈 DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND — WE’RE BACK FOR ROUND TWO!

Following a fantastic response to our recent new member assessments, we’re delighted to be holding a second set of assessments on Monday, 24th August.

If your swimmer has progressed through swim lessons, loves the water and is ready to take the next step into competitive club swimming, we’d love to meet them.

🏊 Open to swimmers aged 7–11 years.
