Ya know where ya don't want to see anyone and just want to stay under the duvet!? Maisie Hill refers to progesterone as your ‘Kirsten Stewart’ hormone – you can feel a bit anxious, perhaps a bit withdrawn and you want to slow down and relax.
The Luteal Phase (Ovulation > Period or Me**es)
Oestrogen drops slightly after ovulation and then it starts to climb again. Progesterone rises. Makes sense doesn't it..
How do you feel when progesterone is on the rise?

Feeling very blessed to have guided such a wonderful group of people on Woodlands for Health over the last couple of months. This is a very special programme which invites participants to connect with nature, themselves and others. Thank you Sarah Fahy for getting in touch and making this happen.
These wonderful people from Clifden & Headford joined together weekly to experience so much of what our local woodlands have to offer.
The programme was kindly funded by
Thank you to John, Maura and the board for allowing this very special programme to happen.
Thanks also to all the staff of ElmTree Clifden & Headford Mental Health Centre who got everyone to the woods each week and always arrived with the goal of ensuring everyone was included and getting what they needed from the programme.

Hi, I'm Elaine 👋
Founder of The Cycle Wellness Academy, Women's Health Advocate, Midlife Coach, community worker, outdoor enthusiast, football mum, and lover of a good sea swim!
After more than 20 years in education, I'm now working with Solas Family Resource Centre while continuing my passion for supporting women through midlife and menopause.
When I'm not working, you'll usually find me swimming in the sea or a lake, running, cycling, or off on an adventure with my boys, our little caravan, and our completely bonkers dog. A lot of our evenings and weekends are spent cheering on the boys from the sidelines, and if we get the chance, you'll find us in Deacy Park supporting Galway United! ⚽
I'm passionate about helping women feel informed, supported, and empowered to thrive through every stage of life. I also run the Headford Menopause Café, creating a space for connection, conversation, learning, and plenty of laughs.
Life is busy, messy, active, and full—and I wouldn't have it any other way. 💛
