So ladies today I want to chat about Pelvic Floor Muscles!
Being a prenatal yoga teacher I teach students all the time about how to locate the PF, what it does and how to activate and relax them.
So after having 2 children myself I know they can weaken if I don't work with them. Recently I have been sneezing particularly fiercely, damn you pollen 🙈 and have noticed my PF was not as strong as I thought it was. So keen as I am to practice what I preach! I had to rectify this issue. So... I bet your wondering how did it go?? Well after just 1 week of practicing regularly when ever I could I noticed a dramatic improvement. No more stress leakage! Which is not only embarrassing but also can be quite stressful worrying as to when it might happen.
So to conclude I can not stress enough, excuse the pun! It is vital to work the PF daily to keep those muscles working effectively and leading to a much happier you.
You can do them anywhere.🌞
I normally teach 2 sets 3 X each set
Locate them between the a**s and va**na opening.
The feeling you want is as if you are trying to stop the flow of urine and breaking wind at the same time
Breathing in pulling back up and in and Pulse...
10 quick pulses
3 X 10 sec holds
Relaxing fully between each set.
It is as important to relax inbetween as it it to hold.
You want to be able to fully relax when birthing your baby and relaxing the PF will help this. 💖 Enjoy your dad 👌

Why should I practice prenatal yoga?? The big difference in prenatal yoga classes is that everyone in the room is pregnant. The teacher will be qualified in teaching this sytle of yoga as a specialism. Each class is tailor made to suit the needs of the pregnant lady. Prenatal yoga classes are suitable for ladies 13+
Taking part in regular prenatal yoga classes has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety. Increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth. Decrease lower back pain, nausea, headaches and shortness of breath.
It is always recommended to attend a class in person where the yoga teacher is fully qualified and insured. Not only for your health and safety but also to reap the optimal benefits of the yoga practice and to meet other mummas going through the same experience. To share and be part of a community of strong empowered women.
