Here’s the garden plan for you. 12 years in with this method, in two totally opposite climates, and I’ve had zero problems with slugs, termites, ants, earwigs… Last summer, during a record breaking drought, I didn’t have to turn on my hose one time, and my garden still thrived. 3 years ago when I started over here in Nashville, this garden area was hard clay. Even dandelions didn’t grow! Adding organic material and compost, year after year, the soil just keeps getting better. Last year I had to use a ladder to pick my okra, it got so big! Always wanted to wear the green jersey

I had the honour of cycling with this legend back in the 77 Rás, I will never forget stage one,rain lashing down flying along as fast as my legs could go, just fighting to hold the wheel in the bunch, next thing I see Flanagan in the Irish jersey sitting up, back he drifts to his team car,few minutes later he sails past me again with a rain jacket covering his Irish team jersey,and he makes his way through the huge bunch back up to the head of the race to keep an eye on the powerful Russian team.
Needless to say, that was the last time I saw the great Paddy Flanagan on stage one of the 1977 Rás.
