The Junior Nationals will be hosted across nine venues: Kingscourt, St. Mellans, Munterconnaught, Monaghan Harps, Kells, Corduff, Carrickmacross, Bawn, and Breacach, with the finals taking place in Kingscourt on Sunday.

We can’t wait to see all the action as our young players take to the courts in what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of handball.

We recently retuned to playing in the 4-Wall court. Our first competition was today at the Western 4-Wall Tournament hosted by Claregalway Handball Club.

The girls all got off to a strong start with Aoibhe and Caitlin Pedraza meeting at the quarter final stages. Caitlin was in full control of the first game but Aoibhe continued to battle her way back and eventually won the game 15-14 and went on to secure her place in the semi-final. Aoibhe gave it everything in the semi-final but came up short against a strong Sophia Moroney from Newmarket on Fergus.

On the other side of the draw Emily and Grace Connaughton met at the semi-final stages. With Emily taking the lead early on, Grace had to dig deep to level the game and go on to secure her spot in the final.

Grace found herself behind in the early stages of the final before levelling the game at 7-7 and took control of a hard fought first game, finishing it out at 15-9. Like the first game Sophia got off to a quick start before Grace settled and took control of the game ending up the U13 Western 4-Wall Champion🏆👏

Congratulations to all our girls who played so well today.

Thanks to Claregalway Handball Club Joe, Julieanne & team for your warm hospitality and a very well ran tournament.
