A busy weekend for RHC across all ages. Friday night saw our under 16s come home from Athlone with a fantastic 1 nil victory for their first ever win in the top division. A brilliant goal by Abby Lohan secured the win for our purple stars 🥇 Abby wasn’t the only Lohan scoring goals this weekend, as her mom Gemma scored a cracker of a goal in a short Corner against Galway 3rds. Our ladies 1sts and 2nds were in action on Saturday and Sunday against Greenfields 2 and Galway 3 and while a few amazing goals were scored by Gemma and the Curtin sisters, our efforts unfortunately weren’t enough to overcome our opponents. Our Juniors were in action in Athenry across all ages and showed off their ever growing skills and team effort. This weekend saw great team effort from our teens, juniors and from both our ladies teams and the return of club President Yvette Quinn to the pitch, a return all in Renmore were delighted to see 💜

Our two ladies teams are in action in the Kingfisher over the weekend at the Connacht indoor tournament. Be sure to come up and support 💜🏑

With Nollaig na mBan yesterday we’d like to thank all of the amazing women in Renmore Hockey Club. There are so many wonderful women involved with our little purple army and we are so grateful for everything they do to keep our club going 💜

Here’s a rainy throwback to our last session before Christmas where our ladies team braved the rain and got in the festive spirit 🎄 congratulations to Molly and Ella who won best dressed! 🏅

Our u14 and u16 team had an amazing night away this weekend. We headed straight to Donaghbate, to meet up with our purple pals in Portrane Hockey Club. Our clubs met at the Elite Hockey Cup in Kilkenny last year and a great bond was forged between our purple armies. Thank you so much to Portrane for hosting us for two great matches and for pizza and goodies afterwards. We can't wait for the return leg to happen! Day two started strong with some retail therapy in Blanchardstown before we headed to the Sport Ireland campus to watch Hockey Ireland ladies take on Belgium in the FIH Pro League. Our girls were thrilled to see the game played at its highest level and to see their heroes in action. We were fit to burst with excitement when our very own Rachel McDonald aced the half time challenge!! The bus home left everyone voiceless after an epic singsong with brilliant memories made. We are so proud of our teens and are so grateful to Hockey Ireland, Connacht Development Officer, David Granero, and our club coaches for giving this group these experiences and encouraging girls to play hockey and enjoy all the friendships that come with that.

Thanks to St Columbas Credit Union - Galway Credit Union for inviting our club members to their Christmas Lights ceremony last weekend. We are so grateful for their ongoing support! 💜

A massive thank you to our club coaches, our amazing junior umpires from our u16 and u14 teams and all our players and visiting clubs who took part in the Connacht Junior Blitz last weekend. We were delighted to host over 180 children for blitzes and it was amazing to see the skills and smiles on display despite the weather!
