A big thank you to all our members and visitors who donated their aluminium cans and plastic bottles to our club's Deposit Return Scheme this season👏

An unbelievable €231.80 was raised, generating more than €334 since we started last year. Special thanks to Evelyn who volunteered her time managing this on behalf of the club.

Co. Galway CC welcomed their first touring side since 2024 to Lydican to close out the season.

Welcoming Wales Over 70s, Galway assembled a team of club legends from past and present with 4 former club presidents and no fewer than 8 captains of yester year.

Its was fantastic to see so many of the club's famous faces reunited and ready to take the field together again.

The game was played in high spirits between all the players, with the visitors batting first they steadily accumulated runs while giving few chances to the local legends whose tight bowling kept the Welsh side to 142 - 1 from 30 overs.

Chasing Galway kept up with the run rate but the visitors were chipping away at the wickets. With 4 overs to spare Galway scored the winning boundary but this was a day where the result was less important than the cricket, the good spirits and the sight of so many Galway legends reunited

A massive thanks to the Welsh side who went on to face the gardai at Lydican the following day in what was another great show.

Co. Galway are Munster Cricket Women's Super League champions!!!

After a defeat in the opening round of the league our women's team remained unbeaten to win back the title for the 2nd time in 3 seasons.

Another bonus for this season was we had our biggest squad numbers for the women's team yet, including 5 from the underage side.

Already looking forward to season 2027✨

Best of luck to Captain Beverley and her women's team as the walk out to the first ever CCU women's competition, the inaugural Women's Invitational Trophy. Along with Co. Galway CC, UOG and North Kildare will be in contention to claim this historic silverware at Kilconnell CC Oval today. This is Co. Galway Women's team 1st CCU organised tournament since a dedicated women's team was re-established in June/July of 2023. Hopefully this will be the dawn of women's competitions in Cricket Ireland's youngest provincial union.
