The sunshine is having a moment here in Ireland... but for some women, thatโ€™s not exciting. โฃ
Itโ€™s stressful. โฃ
โฃ
It means shorts. โฃ
โฃ
Sleeveless tops.โฃ
โฃ
Swimsuits.โฃ
โฃ
Skin being revealed. โฃ
โฃ
And a whole lot of anxiety.๐Ÿ˜ญโฃ
โฃ
I donโ€™t think that happens by accident.โฃ
Many of us who grew up in the โ€˜80s and โ€˜90s were surrounded by magazines that literally zoomed in on celebritiesโ€™ cellulite, โ€œbingo wings,โ€ stretch marks and every other so-called flaw. โฃ
โฃ
It was presented as entertainment. ๐Ÿฟโฃ
โฃ
Then the fitness industry piled on with:โฃ
โ€œGet bikini ready.โ€โฃ
โ€œTone your arms.โ€โฃ
โ€œGet beach body ready.โ€โฃ
โ€œEarn your summer body.โ€โฃ

When you hear those messages for years, they become the voice in your own head. And you donโ€™t even realise theyโ€™re there.โฃ

The saddest part?โฃ
We get so little sunshine in Ireland, (it rains a LOT!) yet so many women spend those precious sunny days worrying about whether their thighs jiggle or their arms wobble instead of making memories with their kids, laughing with friends, walking on the โฃ

Session one in Ballyvaughan last weekend was a great success! Sea air, kettlebell throws on the grass, people trying swings for the first time, others getting properly challenged, loads of laughs, and that lovely feeling after training outdoors.โฃ

We did swings, alternating swings, carries, squats, mobility, partner work, and a few spicy little finishers thrown in too ๐Ÿ’ชโฃ
