🇱🇻: Galway United are delighted to announce that Kate Thompson has signed for the Senior Women's Team for the 2023 season.

🤝🏻: Welcome to Galway United F.C., Kate!

⚽: At only 17, Thompson lined out for the Galway WFC Senior Team 23 times in 2022 and was the team's Young Player of The Year.

🇮🇪: Kate joins a growing number of women’s signings to have represented their country at international level, for both the U17 & U19 teams.

🏆 All at Galway Women's FC would like to congratulate all those who have been presented with player awards over the last couple of days. Thank you also to BestDrive Ireland for sponsoring our awards.

⚽️ As the year draws to a close, we reflect over what has been a great season and has highlighted the talent of so many skilled individuals.

🇱🇻 Having played our final season as Galway WFC, we wish those going forward to Galway United F.C. the very best in their first FAI Women’s National League season and we look forward to seeing them excel.

🏆 Congratulations to Zainab Rather who is the winner of our U17 Player of The Year Award for the 2022 season.

⚽️ Zainab lined out 22 times for our U17 this season. The talented 14 year old was also called up for 4 U19 games.

🇱🇻 Not only has Zainab finished the season on a high with GWFC, she was also on the All Ireland winning LGFA Team with Salthill Knocknacarra GAA Club last week with teammate and fellow award winner, Kate Thompson!

🏆 Congratulations to Ailbhe Whyte who is the winner of our U19 Player of The Year Award for the 2022 season.

⚽️ Ailbhe lined out 17 times for our U19s scoring 2 goals over the 2022 season.

🏆 Congratulations to Jenna Slattery who is the winner of our BestDrive Golden Boot Award for the 2022 season.

⚽️ Slattery was our top scorer this year netting 7 goals across her 23 appearances with one even getting a nomination for FAI Women’s National League goal of the season.

🇱🇻 Jenna has just been announced as the latest signing with Phil Trill's new Galway United F.C. Senior Team and with only good things to come from this young player, we wish her the very best for the exciting season ahead!

⚽️ At only 17, Thompson has lined out for the Galway Women's FC Senior Team 20 times in the 2022 season as well as representing Ireland at U-17 and U-19 levels.

🤾‍♀️ Having made a big impression in the FAI Women’s National League this season, we are all excited to see what the next few seasons have in store for this rising star!

🏆 Congratulations to Julie-Ann Russell who is the winner of our BestDrive Player's Player of The Year Award for the 2022 season.

⚽️ Russell returned to Galway Women’s FC in June 2021 having spent a number of years playing in Australia. She has been the captain of our team since early 2022 and has deservedly been nominated for this award by her own teammates.

🏆 Congratulations to Therese Kinnevey who is the winner of our BestDrive Ireland Senior Player of The Year Award for the 2022 season.

⚽️ Having stepped up to the Senior Team during 2020, Therese has made over 60 appearances for Galway WFC along with captaining the team for a number of games in 2022.

🇱🇻 Kinnevey was the first signing for Galway United F.C. for their new FAI Women’s National League team in 2023 and all of us here at GWFC wish her the very best for the season ahead!
