Dunmore MacHales Ladies raising awareness for Mental Health.
The team have teamed up with HUH βHowβs Your Head?β using their jerseys to help start conversations and break down the stigma around mental health.
π£οΈ βItβs OK Not To Be OK.β
An important message because everyone has something going on. All too often, we put on a front and make out that everything is fine when it might not be. Sometimes, simply checking in and asking someone how theyβre getting on can make a huge difference.
The team also enjoyed a wellness and team-bonding day, with saunas, ice baths and conversations designed to encourage people to open up, laugh and connect.
Sometimes it's not even about the sport itself. It's about the people you meet, the friendships you make, the routine, the laughs, having something to look forward to and feeling like you belong somewhere.
You don't have to have all the answers. Just letting someone know that you're there and that you're thinking about them can go a long way.
Interest in the jerseys has grown throughout Dunmore so we now plans to put the jerseys on sale as part of a Christmas shop, with a percentage of the proceeds going towards a mental health awareness charity.

A huge thank you to Ruth Rooney for giving her time to train our U10 girls this week! π
Ruth is an experienced Sligo footballer, teacher and coach. She captained Strandhill Ladies to both Junior and Intermediate Championship titles and has also coached the Sligo U16s.
The girls had a brilliant evening learning from Ruth and really enjoyed the energy and encouragement she brought to the session. Weβre very grateful to her for sharing her experience with our young players! π
