East Galway Hunt Pony Club

East Galway Hunt Pony Club The East Galway Hunt Pony Club is a branch of the Irish Pony Club and is based in the Ballinasloe area with many of its activities in the Showgrounds.

The East Galway Hunt Pony Club is one of over 60 Branches of the Irish Pony Club, and is based in the Ballinasloe area with many of its activities in the Ballinasloe Show Grounds. The objective of the Pony Club is to encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with the horses and riding. To provide instruction in riding and horsemanship, and to instil in members the proper care of their animals. The highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty are promoted, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline. There is an annual 5 a day residential summer camp, for members and their ponies/horses. Current members are actively involved to Show Jumping, Horse Trials, Dressage and Tetrathlon. Membership is open to boys and girls up to 21 years of age. East Galway Hunt Pony Club was established in 1987 and past members of the club include Sive Brassil (Irish Pentathalon Team)Andrew Bourns (currently Show Jumping Internationally) Graham Gibbons (Jockey with many wins to his credit in England) and many more.

๐Ÿ’ฅCongratulations to Molly & Kilnacappagh Shadow on their success at the Midland Connemara Pony Breeders Show in Mullingar on Sunday
They finished 5th in a very competitive Sarah Miller Future Performance Pony class & also competed in the 1.10cm Clifden High Performance class!

๐Ÿ’ฅJed & Dartans Jumping Jack Flash were also out on Sunday, representing the club at the Island Hunt Pony Club Eventing Championships Qualifier at Frankfort Stud in Wexford.
Fresh from their win at Barnadown on Wednesday, they placed 3rd in the Intro Junior A & also secured their golden ๐ŸŽซ to the IPC Eventing Championships at Tattersalls next month.

EGHPC had a fantastic few days in Barnadown last week! ๐Ÿช„๐Ÿ˜Ž

We started off with an amazing win in the Combined Training on Wednesday! ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽ‰
๐Ÿฅ‡Huge congratulations to Jed & Dartans Jumping Jack Flash who became the National Novice Combined Training Champions, winning on their dressage score of 81.75%! ๐Ÿคฉ
A fantastic achievement for our small club.

On Thursday our U12 Alice Mernagh Team (East Galway Eagles) of Kayleigh, Oscar, Sean & Tara had an epic spin today to finish on a team total of zero faults & getting through to the jump off!!
Kaleigh then stepped up to jump off against the clock & what a performance. An unfortunate 4 faults but what a round!

๐ŸŽฏJed & Rose also jumped on the Area 8 Robbie Bailey SJ team 'Galway Mixed Tribe'.

We are incredibly proud to have 9 members representing the club at National level in Combined Training, Pure Dressage & Team Show Jumping!
