Very well done to our 11 newly qualified coaches, including Croghan's two international athletes & coaches from Dublin & South Wexford, who attended an excellent Athletics Ireland Assistant Coach course in Coolgreany these past two Fridays 🙌📜.
Colin Byrne, our course facilitator & Southeast Regional Development Officer, took us through a masterclass in sprinting, long jump, shot put, javelin & the fundamentals of athletics that we look forward to putting into practice in the coming months. 💜💙 WEXFORD UNEVEN AGES CROSS COUNTRY – DAY 2 💙💜

A fantastic day for Croghan AC at Day 2 of the Wexford Uneven Ages Cross Country, held in Coolgreany on Sunday, October 11th🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

The course had good underfoot conditions, with a challenging hill to take on. It was brilliant to see such a big turnout of juvenile athletes, including some competing for the very first time. Well done to everyone who took to the start line and gave it their best. 👏

Croghan round up October 11th 2026
Congratulations to Abbie Wolohan who won the novice cross country in New Ross last week and then won the intermediate cross country this week in Coolgreany! Smashing job 🏃‍♀️🙌
Croghan AC were delighted to host the intermediate and juvenile (uneven ages) cross country in Coolgreany this weekend. The weather was kind to us and we had a great turn out. Both men and ladies teams got the gold 🏅full race report will follow.
Last week Dave Byrne participated in the Defence Forces annual 10k run in Phoenix Park with a fab time of 39:45 . 47th overall and 6th in his age category.
We also were delighted for Abbie Byrne who completed the fast lane in Clondalkin 10k last weekend with a great time of 58:10.
Finally huge congratulations to our very own Suzanne Keane who completed the Chicago marathon on Sunday with an amazing time of 3:51:53 🔵🟣🎉
Well done to all our athletes, we are so proud of each and every one of you 🏅

Croghan juvenile athletics training (6yrs+) will continue at the earlier time for the coming 3 Mondays from *6:00pm to 7:10pm* in Coolgreany Community Field (Eircode Y25 A4C2).
Croghan AC host Day 2 of the Wexford juvenile & Intermediate XC Champioships in Coolgreany this coming Sunday & we look forward to fielding strong teams across all races on home turf. Ní neart go cur le chéile 🟦🟪

Croghan AC are hosting an Athletics Ireland Assistant Coach course in Scoil Íosagáin, Coolgreany NS [Y25 AN29] & Coolgreany Community Field on Fridays the 9th+16th of October from 4pm to 7pm 🟦🟪 This is an excellent introduction to coaching sprints, endurance, long jump, shot put, javelin & general coaching principles for working with young athletes. This course is open to everyone [including non-Athletics Ireland members] aged 16+ & pre-registration is required on https://eventmaster.ie/event/O1VbTpmH0Z 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Croghan weekly round up 27th September 2026
Another superb weekend for events and races!
On Saturday we had the eco trail in Wicklow. Vanessa Mc Shane came first in her age category completing the 46km in 6:01:26!
Ken Laffan completed the 46km in 6:26, Paul Kirwan in 6:43 and Raymond Cahill in 6:54.
Catherine Murray completed the 19k in 3:26. Massive congratulations to you all 👏🙌🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
Bernadette MacIntyre and Malcolm Byrne participated in the inaugural Tomnafinnogue AC 5k, a great race well done 👏
We also had the Village Run 3/4 Marathon in Laois on Sunday.
