Greystones Ridge Angling Club Tope Festival 2026 Report 🦈
What a fantastic weekend of fishing at the Greystones Ridge Angling Club Tope Festival, held on the 22nd & 23rd August.
The club welcomed 13 boats and 32 anglers from across Ireland, Scotland and Wales, making it a truly international event.

Sea conditions were favourable throughout the weekend, with Sunday producing the better of the two days, with sunshine and light winds making for excellent conditions on the water.

A total of 138 fish were recorded, including an impressive 129 Tope, 11 of which were specimens measuring 158cm or more
The competition was run on a strict catch-and-release basis, with every Tope carefully measured and safely returned to the sea. A fantastic effort from all anglers to ensure the fishery was protected while still providing some great sport.

Due to ongoing construction works in Greystones boats can depart from ports between Howth and Wicklow Town but must fish within this zone and collect there ID cards before the competition.

Greystones Ridge Angling Club hosted the 3rd Leg of the Leinster Boat League on Sunday, 16th August.
A total of 7 boats and 18 anglers took part. The sea conditions were good on the day, but the fishing proved to be tough, with anglers having to work hard for their fish.

Our clubs recent awards night was held in our clubhouse for 2025 , Our boat master angler 2025 winner was Brian whelan and shore master angler 2025 winner was Dean Costello .
Tuesday night winter shore league ,
our Tope Tuesday night league winner was Stephen Hanway , our Tuesday Boat summer league winner was Brian Whelan and our most species of the year with 45 species caught the most ever in our clubhouse by Alex Matthews.
