In association with the Wildlife Estates Label Ireland, Altidore Castle is delighted to announce a two hour walk through both our long established and newly planted native woodland given by members of the Emmet family on Saturday, August 22nd at eleven am.

The Wildlife Estates Label Ireland, which was extremely grateful to receive funding from the Heritage Council Community Grant Scheme will create a new standard for biodiversity in Ireland for landowners of any size.

The walk contains very steep hills and clothing appropriate to weather must be worn. Not suitable for children under eight.

*Meeting Point at Back Gate of Altidore Estate, NOT Front Gate*

Tickets free. Link to register here: https://www.heritageweek.ie/event-listings/free-woodland-and-biodiversity-walk-at-altidore-castle-in-association-with-wildlife-estates-label-ireland

Artist Talk & Tour with Garth Gratrix at 2.30pm

Dip in the Pool is 's first major Irish solo exhibition. A sun-lounger of a show that looks, from a distance, like a holiday. Get closer, and it's something else entirely: spinning plates, custom beach towels, suspended colour, cruising-app intimacy, grief, inheritance, fridge magnets and a very particular colour palette, all arranged according to rules that never quite resolve.

Gratrix (b.1984, lives and works in Blackpool) treats the gallery as a kind of free cruising ground and a space to rest, reinvent and reconsider. Blackpool and Bray are both Victorian promenade towns, built on the push and pull between visitor economies and the people who actually live there, between rest and reinvigoration. That tension runs through everything on show, alongside a playful but pointed critique of how slow institutions can be on access, intersectionality, and paying artists fairly.
