π₯π Sports Nutrition with Vinny Horan πͺ
As part of our Irish Life Healthy Club Programme and Lidl initiative, we were delighted to welcome sports coach and nutritionist Vinny Horan to the club for an insightful presentation on sports nutrition.
Vinny shared valuable advice on how proper nutrition can boost energy levels, enhance performance, aid recovery, and support overall wellbeing. The session also highlighted practical strategies young athletes can use to fuel their bodies for both sport and long-term health.
A big thank you to Vinny for sharing his expertise with our players and parents. The knowledge gained will undoubtedly help our athletes make positive choices both on and off the court.

As a club and as a community, we were deeply saddened by the terrible news of Ewan MacIndoe's passing. Ewan was a popular member of our Senior B squad and recently battled through a back injury to tog out with his Legion teammates and friends. Hugely popular on the pitch and in the dressing room with his teammates, Ewan was always a pleasure to coach from his academy days through juvenile football to the senior ranks. All in the club feel powerless to help Ewan's family and friends at this time of incalculable loss, but especially David, Louise & Amber, we want you to know Killarney Legion will cherish Ewan's memory and will help you however we can. As a mark or respect to our player and neighbour, Legion's pitches will remain closed over the weekend.
Ar dheis DΓ© go raibh a anam. Rest in Peace, Ewan.

π U17 Super 10s Competition π
πLegion 5-12
π§‘Austin Stacks 4-08
We hosted Austin Stacks in Direen this evening in the County U17 Super 10s competition. Gaeltacht were also due to take part but unfortunately were unable to field a team.
Played over 20-minute halves from the 21-yard line using juvenile goals, the game provided a fast-paced and entertaining contest throughout.
Legion were slow to settle and found themselves trailing after 10 minutes on a scoreline of 0-04 to 3-03. However, the lads responded well in the second quarter to reduce the deficit to 1-08 to 3-05 by half time.
Our dominant play continued into the second half and some excellent teamwork and scoring saw us take control, leading 4-11 to 3-07 with just over five minutes remaining.
Austin Stacks never gave up and added 1-01 late on to close the gap, but Legion responded in style to finish strong and secure a deserved 7-point win.
A tremendous effort from the squad in very warm conditions, especially with plenty of tired legs following yesterdayβs big cup final in Tralee.
Thanks to Austin Stacks for a great sporting game and to Evan Horan for refereeing.
π The win means we now qualify for Round 2 on Thursday week!

Legion U10 Girls β FIRIES GO Games Blitz
What a morning! π₯
Five teams battled it out in sweltering heat this morning and our Legion girls were outstanding. They played with great energy and teamwork, holding their own against some really strong opposition from An Daingain, Corcha Dhuibhne , Firies and Kilcummin.
Stiff competition all round, but the girls rose to it every game despite the conditions. Well done to everyone who came out and gave it their all and all the supporters on the sideline β another successful set of Go Games in the books. πͺ
Onwards and upwards to the next one! ππ€π
