🎱 CPA 2026/27 — MEMBERSHIP, CHARTER & FEES 🎱

Everything you need before the CPA Open this weekend.
*1. SEASON REGISTRATION — €25*
You must be registered as a member before you play your first event of the season. €5 of this goes towards the end-of-season awards night.

*2. HOW TO PAY*
Check the Clare WhatsApp group for instructions

*3. CHARTER OF RULES*
The updated 2026/27 Charter is published and there are changes this season. Every member must read it and sign off via a short form.
Full details in the next message — please read it.

*4. TOURNAMENT ENTRY FEES*
Single event:
Main — €25
Ladies — €15
O50s — €15
U23s — €15
U18s — Free
Multiple events:
Main + any other event(s) — €30
Ladies + O50s — €20

Note, slight change in fees structure. Entry to more than one competition costs another €5.

*5. ⚠️ CUT-OFF — READ THIS*
Three things must be done before the draw for your first event:
✅ Charter signed off (Google Form, upcoming message)
✅ €25 membership paid
✅ Tournament entry fee paid
Draws are made 30 minutes before each event starts:
Ladies — draw Fri 5:30pm
U18s / U23s — draw Sat 4:30pm
O50s — draw Sun 9:30am
Main — draw Sun 11:30am

Paying by transfer? Do it in good time — transfers can lag. Paying cash? Get there early and sort it before the draw.
Note that the Charter sign-off is online only, so don't leave that one until you arrive.

🟡🔵CLARE LADIES ARE ALL IRELAND SHIELD CHAMPIONS🟡🔵

Our Ladies A Team started off the shield with a very close match with our Ladies B Team, sadly there could only be one winner here, we seen our ladies A team take the win 5-3 👏👏

They quickly built on this win with a very convincing win over the Kildare Ladies team 5-2,
Into the semis now they took on an experienced Kerry team in which they showed their skill and class to emerge victorious with a score line of 5-2👏👏

This win over Kerry put our ladies into the final against very strong Donegal C team, for sure nerves and emotions were high, but our ladies proved why they were the deserved winner of the ALL IRELAND SHIELD title, securing the win 5-3 👏👏

A special well done to each and everyone of our ladies players, you have all shown your incredible experience and team spirit and were there to support each other the whole way through the tournament, and I am sure we will see you lift more trophies through the years, a huge well done ladies, thoroughly deserved 👏👏

Damien Gavin Strikes Gold Once Again !! 🟡🔵
Damien continued his supreme form in this weekends Clare Championship beating a very steady Jack Halpin who played fantastic pool all day. Damien capitalised on every chance he got and was by far the stand out player of the day, FairPlay to Jack who also played out of his skin beating some of Clare’s best on his way to the final. Well done to Damo who I’m sure will continue his winning form next season, this win has secured Damien Gavin as Clare’s number 1 player of the season, FairPlay Damo great stuff, hard lines Jack, fantastic pool by both of you 👏👏

The over 50s was another thrilling final with all you could ask for from a match, we seen Tim Fleming who has been without a doubt the most consistent player in the over 50s take on Kieron Walsh, it was another thrilling final absolutely nail bitting final with it coming to a hill hill frame between the lads, Kieron showed his skill and won the final frame, fantastic match by both the lads, well done Kieron and hard luck Tim, also Tim’s consistency has earned him the number 1 spot of Clare’s Over 50s team, some achievement Tim 👏👏

In the Ladies we seen yet another fantastic show of pool knowledge and skill and once again it was a hill hill situation between Olive Butler and Laura Hughes, both ladies played superb pool all evening with Laura edging the victory, fantastic stuff ladies, Laura’s win here has secured her as the ladies number 1 player this year👏👏

The Under 18s brought us yet another exception show of talent and skill and it is here that we can see how bright the future is for Clare Pool, Luke Danaher faced Anna Galvao in a fantastic final with Luke emerging the victor, FairPlay to both the youngsters, a special mention her to Tommy Fogarty who’s consistency has secured him as Clare’s under 18s number 1 player👏👏

In the under 23s Aidan Mair faced Young Tommy Fogarty in a match that the victor would take the number one spot for the under 23s category, and once again it was a nail biting hill hill frame between the two lads, Aidan showed his composure and secured the final frame, well done Aidan, Hard lines Tommy, Aidan has secured his spot as Clare’s under 23s number 1 player since his win in this final 👏👏

Our final event of the season will be the A team trial event, with the winner receiving a coveted spot on the Clare A team, date has yet to be confirmed 🟡🔵

Clare Ranking Event 6(NN Sports Cup)🟡🔵
Damien Gavin wins his first Clare Pool ranking event, beating Anthony Carroll in a thrilling final that went the whole way, Nail biting stuff, the two lads beat all the competition and thoroughly deserved their spot in the final, This win was special for Damien as he had been to numerous finals, this time he got to lift the trophy, FairPlay Damien, unlucky Anthony 👏👏

In the ladies final we seen Laura and Yvonne take to the table with top class pool on display, Laura emerged victorious after a fantastic battle and brought home her second title of the season, well done Laura, hard luck Yvonne 👏👏

In the Under 23s final we seen Aidan Mair take on young Luke Danagher in what can only be described as a promising show of skill for the future of Clare Pool, it went the whole way hill hill, with Aidan coming out the victor, well done Aidan, hard luck Luke 👏👏
Side Note: I think we can all agree that the most heartfelt moment of this weekend was Luke Fathers warm embrace, giving Luke a hug after his final, we cherish moments like this 👏👏

In the Under 18s Luke Danagher reached yet another final, this time he took on young Tommy Fogarty in an exception show of talent, After a tough battle Tommy secured the win, Well done Tommy, hard luck Luke I’m sure a final win is right around the corner for you 👏👏

In the over 50 we seen Tim Fleming in yet another final, fantastic form Tim, he faced Anthony Carroll who played fantastic all weekend, after a lengthy battle, Anthony showed his grit and secured the victory, Well done Anthony, hard luck Tim 👏👏

We are delighted to see there is such competition in Clare Pool with 5 different winners in 6 events, our unders 18s and 23s continue to evolve their game and I’m sure we will see a lot of promising things from these lads in the not too distant future 👏👏

Our ladies team continues to go from strength to strength and we can see they will be though to beat in Killarney 👏👏

Tyrone Hogan Wins His First Clare Ranking Event ! Tyrone took on an inform Noel Brennan who had only dropped 3 frames on his way to the final, Noel raced into a 2 nil lead straight away and it looked as though he was going to lift another Clare title, but Tyrone held his nerve and fought his way back to a 6-3 victory, a truly spectacular final that had it all, Tyrone had been knocking on the door with 4 finals last year, I’m sure he is delighted to secure his first ranking event title, well deserved, well done Tyrone, hard luck Noel 👏👏

Tim Fleming continued his winning ways in the over 50s securing yet another title against Anthony Carroll who played fantastic pool all day long, Anthony edged a 2-1 lead but Tim showed his grit and secured the final 4-2, well done Tim, hard luck Anthony 👏👏

Aidan Mair shows his talent in the under 23s beating a clinical Tommy Fogarty in a thrilling final, Aidan showed his grit and secured the win, great talent here amongst the youngsters, well done Aidan, hard luck Tommy 👏👏

Tommy Fogarty shows what he’s all about taking home another Clare under 18s ranking event, beating Luke Danagher in a fantastic final, FairPlay to Luke as he has reached two finals both times he has played, the future is bright for young Luke, well done Tommy you continue to go from strength to strength, hard luck Luke 👏👏

In the Ladies we seen Yvonne McMahon take on Laura Hughes in a fantastic show of skill, Yvonne showcased her supreme talent and took home the win, well done Yvonne, hard luck Laura 👏👏

Aaron Hogan lifts his first Clare Pool Ranking Trophy after beating an inform Tim Fleming in a thrilling Final. Tim’s buttery smooth cue action ensured he raced into a 3-1 lead, but Aaron held his nerve to come back and get the win. FairPlay Aaron, hard luck Tim 👏👏

In the Over 50s we seen Tim Fleming take on Seamus Scullion in an exceptional show of skill, Tim Fleming once again showed his grit and lifted yet another over 50s title, some consistency Tim, hard luck Seamus 👏👏

The Under 23s Final wowed us all when new kid on the block Luke Danagher took on inform Tommy Fogarty, in a top class final, Tommy got the win but the future is bright for young Luke, well done to you both 👏👏

In the Under 18s Adam Fitzgerald beat Anna Galvao in a super show of skill and nerve, well done to you both, the future of Clare Pool is bright with these youngsters 👏👏

Jack Halpin Strikes Gold ! Jack played top notch pool all day long and beat Christopher Bourke in a great final, Jack has always had deep runs in tournaments, it was only a matter of time for the Clare man to win his county shield, well done Jack. Hard luck to Christopher who I’m sure will see glory soon, well done lads👏👏

Tim Fleming shows his grit winning another Over 50s title against an inform Ricky Pino, fantastic pool played by both, Well done Tim, well deserved, hard luck to Ricky, well done to you both👏👏

In the Under 23s Final Aidan Mair took on Sam Abu, with both lads displaying a high standard of pool, Aidan showed his grit and emerged victorious, well done to both the lads👏👏

Tommy Fogarty wows again as he wins the Under 18s Final against Anna Galvao, Tommy has really stepped up levels in his pool game and I’m sure he will continue to reach new heights, well done to both👏👏
