How's your January going ?
Are you still on track , or do you feel the "new year new me" fire staring to die out 📉
Here's the best advice I can give to anyone moving towards a goal
Don't let the bad training sessions or off days nutrition wise get you down too much
I've had countless sessions that didn't go to plan through the years. The reason they didn’t hold me back in the long term is I kept showing up 🎯
Bare this in mind if you're struggling to build momentum and if you're still pushing up hill after a few more weeks reach out 🤝

Been dreaming of this email since the start all those years back 🎯
Time to step up and represent the 🇮🇪
One way to cap off an amazing 2025 becoming a dad, becoming a national champ and now this 👏

There are a lot of factors at play when it comes to making a plan for your goal
Understanding the potential barriers and circumstances is crucial to success
It's not just about "eat less move more" it's finding solutions that suit the individual and they're own individual lifestyle

Top notch shots from as always from nationals 📷
Nationals Recap 🥇
Squat 240
Bench 125
Deadlift 302.5
BW 73.45
Securing a national title has been in my mind probably 10 years now and to pull it off with a prep that ran parallel to becoming a dad was very special
Prep was mentally the most challenging ever trying to keep some aggression while becoming a girl dad was a tricky balance but it all came together
On the day start to finish was a lot of fun finishing with PB's on every lift and weighing in lighter than last year with a 7.5kg cut
It's no secret my bench has always been poor but this was the best performance of all time so a huge win 📈
Huge shoutout to for coaching me through prep and keeping my head in the game as well as top notch handling on the day 🎯
for helping me with meals and putting up with me during prep all while nailing being a new mom in the midst of it all 🤙
gregbowden for coming up to support and being my media man for the day 📷
One week before starting prep for the national powerlifting championships… I became a dad
I thought I knew pressure. Training cycles, recovery, chasing PRs — all of it demands discipline. But nothing prepared me for the reality of becoming a dad right before a national championships prep (wouldn't change a thing)
The first nights were chaos and sleep was a luxury at first. Training sessions became unpredictable. My priorities flipped — but my goals didn’t disappear 🎯
I stopped chasing perfect sessions and started chasing consistency.
24 days out and everything's feeling pretty good all round 🤘
If I can manage to keep things up to a decent standard in the midst of the beautiful chaos of it all you can too
Be realistic around your lifestyle and responsibilities but don't lean on them as an excuse to throw the toys out of the pram 👊

-Imagine This…💭
You’re in the gym, trying to improve your squat, but every cue sounds like gibberish. You’ve worked with coaches before—maybe they lifted a bit, maybe not—but something always felt off.
-The Real Frustration
You’ve never had someone break down the technical side in a way that clicks. You’ve been left feeling like maybe you’re just not cut out for this… not strong enough, not skilled enough, not “meant” for powerlifting.
-But Here’s the Truth
The problem isn’t you. It’s the coaching. Too many lifters have worked with people who’ve never competed, can’t communicate technical points clearly, or simply don’t empathise with your journey. And that leaves you second-guessing your potential.
-Imagine This Instead…
You walk into a session and finally feel seen. You understand why your lift is breaking down and exactly how to fix it. You build strength with confidence—and maybe even step onto the platform like Bronagh, who smashed her first comp with 8/9 lifts after just a short time together.
-Here’s What’s Possible 🎯
It’s not about raw talent. It’s about being coached in a way that works. I bring years of experience and success on the platform to guide lifters like you in a fun, focused, no-BS environment. Strength is a skill—and you can learn it.
DM me “STRONG” if you’re ready to step into that version of you.

Comp weekend 🏋♀️
Huge congratulations to Bronagh on completing her first IPF comp and smashing it 👊
120kg Squat
47.5 Bench
130 Deadlift
The first comp can be very nerve-racking, but once that first squat was nailed, Bronagh soaked up the atmosphere and went on to nail 8/9 lifts
The most impressive part of the day is getting caught on a technicality on the 2nd bench and brushing it off to regain composure and smash the 3rd like a pro 🎯
It was a pleasure to make make the day go smoothly and have some laughs along the way as her handler, onwards and upwards for the next comp 💪

So you hate squats ?
Well, I used to be just like you, but what changed ?
I hated squats because they're one of the most mentally and physically testing exercises out there
This is also why I grew to love them
Getting strong and confident at them elevated every aspect of my training
If you can get past a loaded bar and gravity joining forces to try fold you like a hot mars b, r everything else seems easy by comparison
Also just as is the case in life, overcoming a heavy ass obstacle that has the potential to break you is.....character building
It gets easier every time, embrace the struggle, lock in, and it gets easier every time 💯

It didn't always look like this ⬆️⬆️⬆️
I didn't get into lifting to lift heavy or to compete
Like most people, I started training to improve my mental health and build some confidence 🏋♂️
I weighed 50kg, struggled to lift more than 40/50, and didn't have much faith in sticking to it, given I'd been terrible at every sport I tried (which was a lot)
Almost instantly, I found I liked weight training even before I figured I had some potential to be decent at it
If you think you're not built for strength training.........your probably right, but you can be if you give it a chance as daunting as it may seem at first
13 years later and all I can say is if you're on the fence, give it a go. You never know what might come of it 🤘
