One thing I am keen to point out is that I can help golfers of any age and swing speed improve their game by choosing the right equipment.

I had the pleasure of spending some time with one of Killarney's senior golfers recently who is currently playing off a handicap of 19 but had been as low as 8.
One of the first things I did was to check the set up of his current driver which was a Taylor Made Aero Burner 9.5 loft with a 60 gram stiff Fujikura shaft at 44.5''. Combined with a Golf Pride Multi-Compound Plus 4 Midsize grip, which as it is heavier than a normal grip reduced the swing weight to C3.7. This set up was resulting in a low launch of 9.8 degrees, costing him both carry distance and accuracy.

I was able to switch him into a Ping G440 Max with 12° of loft to generate a higher launch angle and more ball speed from a small increase in club head speed.
The shaft was a lighter, longer Alta CB 50, S/R , soft regular flex with a much lower kick point, we also switched grips in the fitting to a standard Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 with 2 layers of tape below the lower hand to give that thicker feeling without affecting the swing weight.

The result was an increase in launch angle, with on average 26 yards more carry, which was further than the total distance of his old one. His best drive was 33 yards longer so there is a lot of potential there for consistently longer and more accurate drives for our senior golfer.

BEFORE vs AFTER
CHS: 78 vs 79.4
BS : 112 vs 125
Launch: 9.8 vs 14.1
Carry: 168 vs 194
Total: 181 vs 217

🚨FAKE GRIPS. FAKE BARGAIN 🚨
Everyone loves a bargain… but sometimes cheap isn’t a bargain — it’s just cheap rubbish 😂

A customer bought what appeared to be Golf Pride MCC Plus4 Align grips online for a cracking price.
Only problem… they’re fake. 👀
👈 LEFT: Genuine Golf Pride
👉 RIGHT: Marketplace Special™
And the difference is brutal.
❌ Inferior rubber that wears & perishes quickly
❌ More prone to cracking and splitting
❌ Rock-hard cord with nowhere near the same feel
❌ A fraction of the lifespan of the genuine grip
So you saved a few quid…
Brilliant — you can spend it again when you replace them. 😂👏
But there’s a BIG difference between AFFORDABLE and CHEAP.
💥 BUY CHEAP. BUY TWICE!!
With these? Maybe three times. 😭

MAJOR brands supplied with free fitting from:
Golf Pride, Lamkin, Winn, Superstroke etc etc
Making golf affordable — without selling you absolute 💩 🏌️

The Mizuno Shaft Optimizer and Swing DNA system has been the industry’s leading fitting system at local golf club level since its introduction in 2009.
In 10 minutes Mizuno’s Swing DNA system can shortlist the best matched 3 irons shafts – from over 40 options.
The Optimizer’s screen displays 5 data points that create your Swing DNA which helps us to measure critical factors.
From your Mizuno DNA – we can shortlist 3 suitable shafts for you to test and recommend custom setup.
TAKE THREE SWINGS
In just 3 swings the Mizuno Shaft Optimizer can measure everything we need to know – without checking or measuring the ball flight such as:
Clubhead Speed - How fast the clubhead and shaft are moving during the swing.
Tempo - How quickly the player transitions from the backswing to the downswing.
Shaft Toe Down - A measure of the bowing of the shaft in a downward direction during the downswing.
Shaft Kick Angle - The amount of shaft forward bending during the downswing motion.
Release Factor - How and when the clubhead and shaft are releasing during the downswing motion.
