Ocean to City: Mission accomplished!!
Well done to the young lads who completed the Ocean to City - Rás Mór in Cork harbour today: Peter O'Sullivan, Colm O'Súillebháin, Karol Kelly and Donal Kelly, superbly piloted by Paul Burke.
In beautiful conditions the lads navigated the course with style and apparently a little effort, from Crosshaven to Cobh, through Monkstown and Lough Mahon, all the way to the finish line in Cork city.
Thanks to Colm O'Súillebháin for organising, Karol Kelly for towing the boat, Breda Burke for logistical support today and our vocal supporters who cheered the crew home. Thanks also to Fossa Rowing Club for the use of their trailer. 👏
Thanks to all those who helped prepare the crew with some marathon spins on Lough Lein over the past few weeks: Orlaith O'Sullivan, Aodhagán O'Sullivan, Caoimhe Kelly and Noel Prendergast.
Finally a big thank you to all the volunteers along the route and everyone at Meitheal Mara who made the day so safe and enjoyable.

Ocean to City 2026
Best of luck to the Valley 'super vets' who are taking to the waters of Cork harbour today (Saturday May 30th) for the Ocean to City race.
The sandwiches are made, the first aid kit is packed, the life jackets are colour-coordinated and the cox has the Mr. Sheen and the electrolytes at the ready!
The crew of Peter O'Sullivan, Colm O'Súillebháin, Karol Kelly and Donal Kelly are hopeful that their cox, honorary Kerryman Paul Burke (from Carrigaline, Co. Cork), will prove to be a secret weapon on his home waters, and Paul has promised to cut every corner and keep the rate as low as possible. 😊
Enjoy the day lads!

✨Head the Fertha 2026:✨ Flesk Valley had an early start this morning for our first event of the season, at the Head of the Fertha in Cahersiveen.
It was great to finally get some sunshine and competitive rowing under our belts. Well done to all our rowers, especially to those who took the water for the Valley for the first time and those who came home with some medals 👏.
Thanks to Paul Coleman and John Fleming for towing the boats for us, and everyone who helped with the boats and gear over the weekend. As always, we are grateful to our coaches and coxes for their time and enthusiasm.
Thanks and well done to Sive Rowing Club and the Kerry Coastal Rowing for organising a very enjoyable event today.
Next up for us is the rescheduled Flesk Valley 'Head of the Lake'(time-trial) on the weekend of June 6/7. (🙌)
Thanks to everyone who shared their photos today, especially Andy and Fiona. 👇📸
