Striking the balance

If you have struggled to integrate your physique goals into your social life you are not alone.

Let’s be honest, to build a very decent rig, you need to have periods of imbalance where you are locked in on the goal.

Stringing good weeks of recovery & training together - this is when you are really in the groove.

But once the social events kick off - summer beers, festivals, wedding season - you are not sure how to work these in while also prioritising your physique progression.

I find for most people this becomes an issue when the periods in between the events lack focus & excitement.

If you know every 4-6 weeks you are gonna have an event where you are gonna be drinking, there is so much time there to capitalise on your gains.

And if you can learn how to drink responsibly (not possible for most Irish 😂), have 2-3 drinks - it’s hardly something you need to plan for other than account for it in your daily tracker.

Across the Summer, you don’t have to choose physique & abstinence OR beer belly & getting loose every weekend.

I can teach you the framework to get the best of both worlds, just send me a DM & lets map out your Summer 💪🏼

You could be spending your money worse ways

But if you are subscribing to all of these products & still resemble a bag of milk in a tank top, maybe it’s not how that cash should be spent 😂

Look all of these things are “ok” but if you are opting for these over actually improving habits - food quality, sleep, training intensity, you are going nowhere fast.

I’m biased but signing up for coaching has a much higher ROI.

Yeah, you need to put in the work to get the outcome you want but right now, with no direction & wasting money on BS that is not going to give you any tangible physique improvements 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

At least when you work with me, you’ll get a clear & realistic timeframe to achieve your goal.

I’ll critical & systematic on what you need to improve first & foremost before you take on habits that are beyond your level.

You’ll finally have a training programme that works for you, that excites you to train & improves your weaker areas.

And when you need calling out as those old, lazy habits, the ones that have kept you stuck - you’ll get pulled up by your bootstraps.

The gadgets & apps just give you an illusion of progress, coaching will actually have you actioning the important steps towards your dream physique.

So you can keep funding Chris Williamson’s empire of BS supps or work with me 1-1, completely personalised coaching for the same cost?

Sounds like an easy choice to me

Who knew fitness trackers would turn a whole generation of men into wimps?

Quite the week

Started the week in Carlow, ended it back in Marbella after 10 days at home.

My granny passed last Friday & the funeral was Monday just gone down in Clonegal outside her home village.

A hard country woman who farmed up until the age of 94 when her body couldn’t keep up with her anymore 😅

I remember chatting to her with Emma years back saying how it’s mad that even at her age she is still out carrying buckets of feed & bringing the cattle in.

To which she replied “sure what else would I be at but this” 😂

While we didn’t have the closest relationship if there is one thing she taught me is once you have a purpose you’ll be happy in your day to day no matter what that looks like.

Yesterday’s upper session with cues I use 💪🏼

After a very long week training has been a bit on the back foot so to get my session order back on schedule I combined the best of my push/pull sessions into 1.

The main aim being still hit priority body parts & most bang for your buck movements while keeping session quality high.

25 total working sets in the session with some super sets to help improve efficiency w/o compromising focus.

For me anything north of that many sets per session & it’s not that I can’t physically do it, I just can’t keep my head in it.

While I could have just soldiered on across the weekend & do the next 4 sessions in a row, right now I have to focus on session quality above all else as I get deeper into the programme & closer to PB territory!

The work is only as beneficial as it is progressive & this is where balancing recovery + performance is paramount 💪🏼

Everybody knows this feeling

I know I do & I know a lot of my clients deal with being self conscious from time to time with their physique.

The funny thing is while there is absolutely a physical element to it, so much of it is behaviour driven.

You have a bad training session & all of a sudden you are s**t at training full stop.

You have a couple of off days with nutrition & now you think you are a fat slob.

Or they could be the least noticeable aspects of your physique to everybody around you but to you it sticks out like a sore thumb.

A small bit of belly fat on your otherwise lean mid section.

Your left arm being a slight bit smaller than your right.

No matter what level you are at now or where you get to - you’ll get these feelings.

However, these feelings become less & less the more you act in line with that goal you set.

And face the parts of the process you usually avoid head on.

Becoming more confident in your approach - gym, nutrition & physique are modifiable.

You can alter your approach towards your ideal.

And it’s what I actively work on with my clients as not only do you transform your body but your mind.

Now I can’t promise you you’ll never be self conscious again but I can definitely help you no longer be the lad who wears his t shirt at the pool with his mates.

You might even be the first to take his top off.

It’s Summer, so you might wanna consider that offer 👀

The summer is upon us

Pints are flowing

And you’re thinking is it worth really putting as much effort into the gym as you have the last few months

After all, you have a lot planned & how much progress are you really gonna make?

Thats the mentality of somebody who has the physique of a seasonal trainee

The “I’ll lock in when life is less busy” guy

It’s the same story every year

And year after year you are never making any new ground, just getting back to where you were before undoing it all again

Honestly to me this absolutely insane carry on

Especially since it’s not how it has to be

I love my bodybuilding but I love my break away when a good reason pops up

I’ve had plenty of them already this year - my 2 weddings, a stag, another wedding & a festival to come

Between them though is weeks of time where there is progress to be made

Days of consistency to stack

Each of those contributing to the goal physique

If you are gonna be a man at night - the person who is making the choice to enjoy a few drinks, stay out late

You can be a man in the morning who also is gonna be responsible enough to show up for themselves the next day & the goal they set

It’s a lie you tell yourself that you can’t do the two, made into a reality as you’ve never tried

And a man who only chooses the enjoyment & not the responsibility ain’t much of a man at all

Many will think working with a coach through the Summer is a waste of time with all the busyness that comes with it

But not the ones who are people who have the rigs which are catching attention as they strut down the beach as they keep accountability in their corner for these exact moments

This is where coaching comes into it’s own

Wanna become that man in the morning? It’s about time you reached out
