Kilworth Celtic 5–4 Blarney
What a game at Sheila Flynn Park as Kilworth Celtic secured a thrilling 5–4 victory over Blarney in the MSL Junior League Cup! ⚽🔥
Kilworth put in a strong first-half performance, creating chances and playing some good football, but found themselves 2–1 down at half-time.
Blarney came out strongly after the break and extended their lead in the 58th minute, making it 1–3.
Kilworth responded immediately, and in the 61st minute, Aidan Brokenshire found the back of the net, assisted by Scott Fitzgerald, to bring the score back to 2–3.
Kilworth continued to push forward, and their pressure paid off in the 72nd minute. Denis Golden produced a fantastic finish, assisted by Sean Keane, following a corner taken by Dean Jordan. The comeback was complete — 3–3!
Kilworth then turned the game around completely when they were awarded a penalty. Dean Jordan stepped up and produced a brilliant finish into the bottom-right corner to put Kilworth ahead for the first time, 4–3! 💥
There was still plenty of drama to come, as Blarney levelled the game again in the 80th minute, making it 4–4.
With everything still to play for, Dean Jordan produced another moment of quality just two minutes later. His 82nd-minute goal put Kilworth back in front at 5–4. 🔥
Kilworth held on to secure a fantastic 5–4 cup victory in a game full of goals, excitement and a brilliant second-half comeback.
