🔴⚫ Kilworth Celtic U11s produced another excellent performance, securing a 3-0 victory over Douglas Hall B in our second competitive game of the season last Sunday. ⚽️

Oisin Kenneally opened the scoring with an unbelievable free kick from well outside the box, finding the bottom corner with a fantastic finish. ⚽️

He then turned provider for the second goal, giving a great assist to Cillian Prendiville, who finished coolly. 👏

The third goal was straight from our training on Wednesday night. Jack Nolan produced a great dribble down the wing before delivering a superb cross, which was met by Declan Kenneally for a well-taken headed finish. ⚽️👏

🧤 Both goalkeepers, James Flynn and Barry Hurley, played a half each and were excellent. Barry made a great save in the second half and both keepers’ kickouts were outstanding, helping us play out from the back.

🛡️ The defence was really strong throughout, getting up and down the pitch, winning their battles and contributing to our attacks.

⚡ The midfield worked tirelessly, with great energy and passing, and our strikers did all the hard work, made the keeper work and created some great chances with excellent movement and passing.

👏 Douglas Hall were a tough opponent but we played really well. A great team performance and another clean sheet! 🔴⚫

🏆 MSL Junior League Cup

Kilworth Celtic 5–4 Blarney

What a game at Sheila Flynn Park as Kilworth Celtic secured a thrilling 5–4 victory over Blarney in the MSL Junior League Cup! ⚽🔥

Kilworth put in a strong first-half performance, creating chances and playing some good football, but found themselves 2–1 down at half-time.

Blarney came out strongly after the break and extended their lead in the 58th minute, making it 1–3.

Kilworth responded immediately, and in the 61st minute, Aidan Brokenshire found the back of the net, assisted by Scott Fitzgerald, to bring the score back to 2–3.

Kilworth continued to push forward, and their pressure paid off in the 72nd minute. Denis Golden produced a fantastic finish, assisted by Sean Keane, following a corner taken by Dean Jordan. The comeback was complete — 3–3!

Kilworth then turned the game around completely when they were awarded a penalty. Dean Jordan stepped up and produced a brilliant finish into the bottom-right corner to put Kilworth ahead for the first time, 4–3! 💥

There was still plenty of drama to come, as Blarney levelled the game again in the 80th minute, making it 4–4.

With everything still to play for, Dean Jordan produced another moment of quality just two minutes later. His 82nd-minute goal put Kilworth back in front at 5–4. 🔥

Kilworth held on to secure a fantastic 5–4 cup victory in a game full of goals, excitement and a brilliant second-half comeback.

A brilliant cup fightback from the lads! 👏🔥

Kilworth Celtic U18 boys kicked off their league campaign at home against Mallow United in a thrilling nine-goal encounter. Having knocked Mallow out of the cup the previous week, Kilworth expected a tough, physical test from a side seeking revenge—and the match lived up to every expectation.

First Half

• 3’: Conor Lynch got Kilworth off to a flying start from a free kick, finishing smartly to put the hosts 1–0 up within three minutes.

• 5’: Mallow responded less than two minutes later, breaking through the defense and placing the ball low into the right-hand corner to equalize.

• 13’: Ryan Whelan reacted quickest to a spilled ball by the Mallow goalkeeper, tucking it into the right corner to restore the lead at 2–1.

• 37’: Killian Ball set up Whelan for his second of the afternoon to extend the advantage to 3–1.

• 40’: Ball turned goalscorer, slotting home his first of the season to make it 4–1.

• 44’: An unfortunate own goal just before the half-time whistle gave Mallow a lifeline, sending the sides into the break at 4–2.

Overall, Kilworth played some really smart football when in possession, and worked hard when without.

Second Half

Mallow United dominated early in the second half, pressing high and disrupting Kilworth’s passing play:

• Mallow’s left winger cut inside and struck a right-footed shot into the top right corner to pull it back to 4–3.

• Nine minutes later, Mallow completed the comeback when their centre-back headed in from a corner to level the score at 4–4.

• 87’: With Mallow holding the momentum, Kilworth produced a decisive moment late on. Danyl Pierce threaded a through-ball to Ryan Whelan, who finished calmly to secure his hat-trick and a 5–4 lead.

Kilworth held on through the closing minutes to secure all three points in a dramatic 5–4 victory.
