Athlete of the Month:

Oliver Forde

Oliver is one of our teen athletes, and trains regularly and religiously with his Dad Gavin. Starting the gym a few months ago Oliver was pretty quiet, and definitely unaware of his own potential in a very humble way. Over the past few months we have all watched Oliver make enormous strides in his training, and we have all marvelled at his impeccable Squat!!! We are so proud to see the progress that Oliver has made. His attitude is stellar, and it is simply brilliant to see him coming into his own as a strong, confident, and capable young athlete. We wish him all the best in his first Open competition starting next week, and cannot wait to see what the future holds for him. Well done Oliver!!!

CFK Athlete(s) of the Month - December

Wow, what a month it has been, what achievements you have all banked. This months athlete of the month could have easily been any one of you, and the selection was super challenging. As it stands, we decided to award this months athlete of the month to two seriously talented athletes who represent some of the heart of CFK. Those two athletes are none other than :

Coach Mark Eaton
Coach Donie Cunningham

Coach Donie suffered a major injury a couple of years ago that would have seen 90% of us hang up our boots, and 2.5 weeks ago the man pulled 215kg off the floor in a deadlift and split je**ed 105kg and is talking about doing a 100km race. Donie has his own unique style of coaching that everyone responds so well to because overall he is such an affable character (although there are many who have spoken of the "tabata tune" night sweats on a Friday night). At the same time he is dark horse, a total rogue and one to watch. If only we could get him to speak English!

Coach Mark, is like the Kinsale love child of Tony Robbins/Jason Mamoa. His time, patience and interest in people seems unending, and he walks the walk of a top class coach. Mark works away in the background slowly persevering with goals, and where like all of us he sometimes struggles with goals, he is unswerving, committed, dedicated and each day shows up and gets s**t done which was exemplified this month by him hitting a 100kg sn**ch which has been a goal he has chased hard and won! And lets face it, the man looks good in a pair of budgie smugglers!!!!

We are so blessed to have these two boys coaching at CFK, and more than proud to call them out for their achievements as Dec CFK Athletes of the month. Thank you both for all you do!

This months athlete of the month - is none other than our gorgeous lady and one strong momma -

Elle (Eleanor Crowley)

Elle gave birth to baby Maggie on the 19th October 2022. That's not the only reason why we're awarding her the coveted athlete of the month however. Elle trained right the way through her pregnancy including the week that Maggie arrived (maybe even the day, I'm not sure, she was booked in anyway 😂). She never moaned or complained, she changed whatever was on the board to suit and just got on with it, which is badass by any standards and serves as a reminder to us all that there are times you just need to suck it up and plough on.

So Elle, for your grit and your toughness, for being a warrior of a Mom and a super athlete, you are quite deservedly the athlete of the month.

Fair play to you and blessings and love to your little miracle Maggie from all at CFK x

Hey folks

It will come as no surprise that the gym is closing, we will not be opening tomorrow and will advise when we will be re-opening. We have sent emails to all members and will be emailing daily workouts tailored for workingout at home.Try to carve out the daily space to get it done and it is good to change it up. (Did you see the video of lifting trees)
