Back into it this week!

Max and I are heading south for Rallye Casinos do Algarve. It’s been a little while since I’ve been on gravel, so I’m keen to get stuck in and hopefully put together a strong result.

Time to find out if my gravel brain is still switched on😂

Test day ✅
Ceremonial Start ✅
Day one ❌
Day two 💪🏼
Didn’t quite go to plan, however we had a good time when we could.
Day one.. SS1 red flagged while waiting to start, due to previous car off road. Toured through.
SS2 clutch issue while on start line. Day over. Back to service for repair.
Day 2.. Big smiles. Rear tyres tortured. Sweating profusely in 35degree heat.
Zoe put in a tremendous amount of work this week. Not an easy task in a foreign country. Thanks Zoe.

Didn’t think I’d be back on the Epynt ranges after over 30 years, let alone watching Bryn Jones Rallying compete. And as usual it was pissisting down 😂 Good to see some old mates out there spectating.

Another cool opportunity to go rallying in Wales again!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

This weekend, I’ll be heading to Epynt for the Get Connected Mewla Rally, driving a Ford Fiesta R2 prepared by EDSL Sport.

I will have Tommi Henderson alongside me, who brings plenty of experience around the ranges.

Epynt has a huge amount of rallying history and has seen (and bitten🫣) plenty of great names over the years. It will be pretty special to get the chance to compete there myself! (Especially in Dad’s old backyard😁)

UK event finally checked off the bucket list!🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Over the past few months, I’ve been working with JRS Motorsport on finishing off a Mini Cooper R50.

Yesterday was its first event in competition, with Max and I competing at the Gareth Hall Memorial Rally in Trawsfynydd, a 22-mile rally on some ex-military roads.

Throughout the day, we made some solid improvements to the car’s setup and are already looking at developing it even further! Finishing third in the R50 class and matching times with some of the supercharged R53s shows the potential this car has.

A massive thank you to Jon Ross from JRS Motorsport for the opportunity to get this car up and running and to its first event. It would be brilliant to see some people take a look at hiring this car for future events!

And thank you to Max for co-driving. A big shout-out to him for making the effort to come to Wales after competing in the Ulster Rally the day before!
