I’m running the 6 mile in Aid of this year! 💜
I am raising funds for the Alzheimer's society in loving memory of my lovely granddad George. It is Georges 5th Anniversary this year.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers.
I would love if you could please donate what you can in memory of the true Gent George was. He was a huge part of my sporting life in particular watching my community games races. Granted this run is far longer than he ever saw me running. Running through Limerick I will be remembering his unbelievable passion for the city he loved so much.
Any support you can show would be deeply appreciated 💜✨🫶🏻
This is the link to the donation page 💜💜

Beyond excited to be part of this in Go Gym Limerick!! Anyone that knows me knows how much I loved teaching fitness to young teens at Camp in New Hampshire every summer I went. So I’m so excited to be able to bring that passion to Limerick. If anyone knows any teens that might be interested in taking part in these classes please send them my way! It’s pay as you go and all centred around having fun and building positive relationships around exercise! Please share and spread the word! 🤩🤩

🧠Combo to increase intensity of workouts✨
In my previous posts I have chatted about how to increase intensity at home by using bits of equipment that you have around the house and also how to play with the tempo of exercises.
Today i'm going to chat about how you can use all these together. Combining the two together lets you increase the intensity even more. Lets say for example you start off using your bag for squatting, at a normal tempo, eventually you hit a plateau of progression here. Whether it be no more weights to be added (too swole bro 💪🏻) or you are finding it 2ez. In this case i would start to play with the tempo of your squat. Keep the resistance there (in whatever form you have) and then change your timings. If you are currently training in the generic pace, either slow the whole exercise down, add in a pause or slow one part down. Another way to combo progressions is if you have resistance bands. .ie have amazing ones and code “aishling” gets you dollah bills off 🤑Add these into your exercises. Combo your bands with weights and you are sure to feel an extra burn here!! 🔥🥵
Another way to increase intensity is to add height to things. (incline or declines depending). An example being add a step or height to your lunges to increase your range of motion. Adding the step in means that you will lunge lower into the lunge. (similar but not the exact same as a bulgarian split squat). Other exercises this works for is deadlifts, tricep dips (the higher the lower you can go)🪜
If lockdowns have taught us anything its that there is a way to progress everything. Use tempos, random bits of equipment, holds, reistance bands, inclines and declines.
Hope this has helped to shed some light on ways to add even more intensity! Let me know if you have any questions at all! Or if you would like to see some examples 💡🤷🏻♀️
Hope everyone’s gets active this weekend and stays safe 🤩
- also this jumper is from Her Sport too and I’m obsessed 🔥💓
Save and share ✌🏻

👟TRAIN WITH INTENT 🏋🏻♀️
Let’s talk about the reasons behind our training. Whether it’s at home, on a pitch or in a gym (miss you). 🥺The intention or reasons behind WHY you are training or turning up for a session is more important than people realise! When you turn up for a session with a plan and intention of what you wanna get done you become more present!
Being present at training doesn’t have to mean no phone or no fun. But it does mean that you know your why and that you bring focus to the session.
Don’t get me wrong there has defo been times when I have trained but not been present or focused. Didn’t really think about what I was doing just got it done. However IMO those sessions aren’t as effective. I usually come away from them feeling unproductive. Everyone has days like that and it’s important to recognise that and prevent them happening again.
Train with intent and a plan. Know your why and your OWN reasons to train. Training with intent will also help you to focus on your goals. And make your workouts more worthwhile!
Be intentional with exercise selection. Don’t just do what you see others doing. One size doesn’t fit all in this industry.
If you have no idea where to start; firstly write down your goals, then break them down to how you will reach them. Find out the steps needed and get going. Make a plan and work towards it! If you need a hand lmk and we can chat about it!
If you bring to train with intent it will become easier for you to turn up on the days you don’t really want to.
So find your why! Be present when training. Work on yourself and you enjoy it!

Obviously this past year has not been a fun one but I am thankful for the opportunities that I have gotten. Last year I was lost and had zero motivation and was losing confidence in myself. 365 days later and I’m THE most content, confident and happy I’ve ever been. There was lots of “use this time to your benefit” chat last year during the first lockdown. I took this and ran with it. Worked hard in the background and pursued opportunities. I’m so happy with how far I’ve come and I’m bloody buzzing for the next years to come.
Thank you to all those that have been there from the first post (ye know who ye are 😙) and those who have joined along the way. I ain’t leaving anytime soon. Here for a long time and a fun time.
Social media can be a difficult thing but I’m thrilled that I’ve had the chance to see the positives that can come from it.
The support, likes and shares don’t go unseen to a gal like me. I’m genuinely so grateful for any and all support 🙈🥰
Here’s to the next trip around the sun 😜

Me and everyone’s best friends over these past (and present) lockdowns 😅🤪
ie kindly gifted me these bands to try out a few weeks ago and I must say they are A1 🤩 when the gym was open (😭) I used these to warm up my legs for my leg day and also used them while doing some exercises too! They come in three strengths and are so bright too! 😍 Let me know if it would be helpful to ye if I did some quick tutorials with them!! Also if you are interested in getting them you can use my code “aishling” at checkout for 10% off (cheeky plug 😏). This sounds like such an ad but I honestly just love them 😂
