Dear members,
As we disperse after a gruelling but rewarding week at the World Championships, we take away lots of medals but also lots of lessons and memories.
Congratulations to all participants. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to the cause. It was Team Ireland's most successful campaign in terms of Podium positions with 8 Gold medals beating our previous record of 5.
We also had a record number of finals which delivered Silver medals. We intend to convert these finals positions into Gold medals in the future and we are on an upward trajectory towards this goal.
The medal count for Ireland was
8 Gold
18 Silver
19 Bronze
I can officially confirm that during the ITF Congress, it was announced that the 2028 World Championships is proposed to be held in Ireland.
I want to thank our coaches, umpires, and spectators but especially the competitors who represented us with class, composure, determination and indomitable spirit. The Taekwon-Do Alliance Ireland will continue in our pursuit of excellence in ITF Taekwon-Do.
Regards,
Master O'Brien
