Message from President Michael Dalton

Hi everyone,

I’d like to mention some of the comments on our page. We’ve noticed it’s often the same 2 or 3 people posting, and the comments tend to be negative.
The board is working hard to get the September races ready, and the club is in a really strong place right now.
It would be more helpful if concerns were sent by email or by phone instead of on Facebook. Posts that question the board’s intentions or the club’s reputation don’t help the work we’re all doing.
If negative posting continues, we may have to remove people from the page.
We have sponsors and a lot of volunteers counting on us.

Michael Dalton

Incredibly sad news from the Isle of man -
RIP Daniel Ingham
We send our sincere condolences to his wife, children, parents ,family and friends

The Isle of Man TT Races are deeply saddened by the passing of Daniel Ingham following an incident in yesterday evening’s qualifying session for the 2026 Isle of Man TT Races.

Whilst 2026 marked his TT debut, Daniel had over a decade of experience on the Mountain Course having competed in the Manx Grand Prix since 2016, claiming a number of podiums in that time, and winning the prestigious Senior MGP in 2024.

A popular and well-respected member of the road racing community, Daniel’s passion for the sport was evident to all that knew him.

Dear members,

There would appear to be a lot of drama and speculation appearing since my announcement was released.

Let me assure you that there is absolutely no call for drama of any description and to speculate, generate drama or seek gossip is unhelpful and frankly, damaging to the club.

Essentially nothing has changed and both the club and the event are very healthy in both finances and planning.

It would be appreciated if members would use all of this energy to get behind those doing the work so that we all can experience the greatest road race that the South has ever seen.

Thank you all so much for your concern but everything really is good.

All the best
Paul

Important Club Update , South West Road Racing Athea

It is with great regret that we announce Paul McMahon's decision to step down from his role as President of South West Road Racing Athea. Paul has given tremendous commitment, passion, and dedication to the club and to the continued success of the Athea Festival, and we are extremely grateful for all of his hard work and support throughout his time in the role.

The Board and members of the club would like to sincerely thank Paul for all he has done for the club during his time as President. His dedication, passion, and commitment to the Athea Festival have been greatly appreciated by everyone involved.

We are truly regretful that we will not continue to work alongside Paul in this role, but we fully respect his decision and wish him nothing but the very best of luck in the future.

Please see Paul’s statement below:

“Dear members,

Due to circumstances outside of my control and, following a long period of consideration, I have come to the conclusion that my role in the position of President has become untenable.

For this reason I have decided to step down as President with immediate effect.

This is not a reflection on the current Board or the amazing work that they are doing, especially my good friend Stacey.

I firmly believe that I am leaving the Board in a very strong position and I will continue to work with Stacey where necessary.

Mike Dalton will step in as President and I wish Mike all the very best in the role.

It is with regret that I felt that I had to make the decision to step down as the success of the Athea Festival is an ongoing dream of mine but I would urge all members to get behind the Board and bring this over the line.

Thank you so much for your support over the past few months and I hope to see you all in September when I'll finally get to race this iconic circuit.

All the best
Paul”
